Thank you so much for uploading this; I recently began to collect all the Oscar-nominated shorts, and I've come to learn that they can often be impossible to find without the support of the original creators. Plus I always really liked this one, it makes me laugh and the watercolor animation is actually quite pretty.

your craftmanship is amazing! do you need to be good at coding expressions in after effects to be a motion designer? I want to learn more complex 2d animations like this style, or like faux 3D animation. but I hate coding.

Thank you! The good news is you do not need to know coding. Badgered was hand drawn pencil on paper, frame by frame. The drawings were scanned and composited in After Effects. I am currently using digital animation software, Toon Boom Harmony, but still drawing frame by frame. However, you can create character rigs (puppets) and have a 3D environment in Harmony if you're looking for something a bit more sophisticated with the help of a computer. There are a lot of possibilities. It's easier for me just to draw it though. Hope that helps!
