You know what we did speak about having a character in there with square eyes as its such a classic one. The thing is we wanted to do everything in-camera with no CGI. Which meant we just couldn’t think of an elegant solution to execute square eyes with this approach sadly. Will have to save that one for next time;)

When I was about six years old, my mom and I were waiting for the bus. It was pretty late and already dark. Then an old lady came along, walked straight up to me and asked me if I wasn't afraid of the boogeyman coming to get me. My mom got so furious and angry, asking her why on earth she was so keen on scaring me for no reason at all - and vividly told her to get lost. I still love here for that moment (and of course for a gazillion other reasons). Therefore I never was, and never will be afraid of the dark, or of spiders, or of dentists, etc... - cautionary tales are for envious and lazy grown ups who've forgotten how it was to be a child and sadly are only capable of patronizing - Thank you for that story. My mom just would have loved to see this. ♥

I like how the artists don't mind helping us out of the dark and giving us a clear picture of the concept in the film. I'm not too familiar with all these children's tales and got that they probably all personified one tale but didn't quite understand how. Then the credits rolled. Terrific!

It's interesting how different people read different things into words. I did a customer care course once that showed how 80% (I'm still a little dubious about that percentage) of a verbal conversation is not about the words - it's about the body language, tone, volume, pause, what you don't say, emphasis etc. That's why sarcasm (some call that irony) doesn't work (unless you know the person) on the internet. I had to think so hard to write that!

Yuh know...pants,long skirts and dresses, etc. But then in middle school I met a girl with scars from hot water from her chin and down her front. We became friends and she really changed my whole outlook on life. She was and is still one of my heroes that taught me that it doesn’t matter what we look like on the outside...not to the people that count anyway. 🥰 Be well... and don’t Ever let anyone take your joy! ❤️, A Dorothy In Kansas

i don't understand the crust one, at all EDIT I discovered shortly after posting my comment, that British children were told not to eat crusts because they'd be afflicted with curly hair (surprised they also didn't say "and your skin will darken" 🤣). Most us North Americans were forced to eat our crusts, and curly hair was a desirable trait so that's why we're so confused.

It really helped. For example the woman with the tree. I thought she got into a car accident and smashed into a tree. The credits (which btw are illustrated very well) helped immensely. This is sort of an abstract take on group therapy and it stands on it's own, but the credits gives the story context if you didn't pick it up on your own, which I did not.
