That desing would be horrible. Jack like that needs to move in when jacking up, so the thing you are jacking will not slide off the lifting pad.

@@AdBul_ your absolutely correct. The lifting motion isn't straight up and down. So be jack sinking into terrain would be a horrible design, and unsafe. @@GreenJeep1998 I recall reading an article where the son was discussing his goal of providing quality tools for the working class, and that they were purchasing factories/setting up in house production in order to have tighter control over quality. It’s not like harbor freight hasn’t been sourcing many of their tools from the same manufacturers as other brand names. Even when HF was synonymous with total junk, that wasn’t wholly deserved. They’ve always made power tools that worked pretty damn well, their hand tools have always been pretty decent, obviously there have always been a bunch of junk too, but HF tools have never been as bad as their reputation. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re spot on, and we will one day see them as the next craftsman/sears. Their icon tools are already as good as any of the tool truck brands, so it may just be a matter of shedding their past reputation.

I've had a harbor freight stand collapse on me, I may have been on a hell of a hill and it was balanced on 2 cinder blocks, but that's besides the point, dangerous sum guns they are!

Used to work at a HF, the rumor was that a lot of new stuff was them going to manufacturers and having them dupe better products where the buyers didn't pay for exclusive rights to the design.

for those who finish concrete: if you can get your hands on a jack handle like that it fits into the smaller size concrete finishing poles. we call it the excalibur. can get counter weight without a ton of poles and if your out 5 or 6 poles the soft or knurled grip turns super easy.
@DeathTollRacing3 ай бұрын
That is great advice. I don't know a lot about concrete, but I've done enough to imagine exactly what you're talking about.

That would be nice to have in my plow truck in case I blow a tire in a snow storm...its tough to get a normal floor jack to cut through snow and ice when getting the jack in place.

I've got one and I have picked up a ford f250 4x4 and a ram 2500 4x4 both diesels and it still works great and so far the wheels have not even hinted at failure
@DeathTollRacing3 ай бұрын
I have a very similar experience as well. No signs of fatigue.

We have one at work and anytime I need to jack something up. I grab it every time over the other older ones we have and I love it works ever time fast to move a round the shop easy to go out in the parking lot with it.

I’ve been doing the same since I got it.

They are freaking awesome to use have a buddy of mine that does towing for a living specializing in off-road recovery and he has one of these in the back of his truck at all times, and it has saved him a lot of headaches

Harbor freights engineering over the last few years is at a professional level. They changed something up and it's good

They are changing their game for sure. Huge presence at professional trade shows now too.

I have some old HF stuff that still works pretty good. Their quality stooped a little but downwards the past few years but recently they have definitely improved some things and I definitely use alot of their stuff
@randombuilds8336Ай бұрын
I remember 20 years ago I would regularly shatter sockets from HF and the cordless tools were a joke. They have significantly improved the tools they sell. Some stuff is still garbage, but a lot of it is pretty competitive now.

Everything there is getting better for sure.

Brother in law has this. Great jack. I was skeptical of the wheels. It was able to jack my wife's f350. He bought it for his SxS. So, it should hold up decently with any off-road vehicle. I give it 👍🏻👍🏻

Agreed. They still sell some "I'm gonna use this once" tools. But I've been impressed with their quality lately.

I have owned this for a year now receiving it as last years birthday present and its a beast of a jack! Rolls over all the debris ither jacks normally get stuck on! For f sake i can actually take the jack outside on a dirt driveway! Now i have all heavy duty trucks and when i first got the jack it use to seep so make sure you using your jackstands! Now the seeping has either stopped or its working properly or im not relying on it as much anymore. The extra stand that goes on the end of jack is an awsome feature. This is a very rugged and reliable jack! Very very strong 💪 i still use two 3 tons jacks to lift the front end of my diesels but it could def do one side easy and if you have to it can do it all on its own. But here is the kicker!! Its so good that when you jack it up make sure your vehicle is wheel chucked cause it will roll away if you lift the wheels that have the parking brake!! Love the jack two thumbs up

As a person who often works in the backyard, this would be very handy for me. Pushing and pulling a floor jack with the steel wheels through grass is a pain in the ass.
@DeathTollRacing2 ай бұрын
They are great for exactly that.
@user-wp5xq4jm9hАй бұрын
I can say that jack made short work jacking up my f350 to do wheel bearings. It's worth every penny and can be mounted in the bed of your truck. I know my stock jack can't lift my truck unless i put wooden blocks to raise it up first. It's easy to move around, lift with the handle, etc.

Awesome!

CAT and Pro Eagle both have this jack with the same composite wheels. They are not a weak spot at all. Each wheel can hold the max jack weight independently so having 4 of them makes them very stout.

It really depends on the brand harbor freight workers have said Daytona jack are bombproof Hercules power tools are almost never broken while Bauer comes back frequently
@donatonigro4 ай бұрын
I bought one to take my transmission out after my regular jack broke. It surpasses every other jack in every way. The big wheels are actually crucial because it rolls a slight bit as you lift the jack because the arm travels in an arc.. my old jack would skip on the jack point, leaving me to wonder if it was all going to come crashing down. The extended height is also a nice simple solution to what we all need for obvious reasons. The locking handle is so that it is easily wheeled around and with one arm you can lift either the front or rear wheels for quick and easy steering to get around things and into position. Best purchase I've made in a long time.. this one's not getting left outside. It's an entirely different category of jack that the others don't even compete with.. do yourselves all a favor and get one!
