As I recall, Bae's accent has always fluctuated significantly. She even sometimes switches from sentence to sentence. You can hear it around 0:48 when she says "more aware" -- she's fully rhotic on both of those words, even though she's non-rhotic for most of the clip; compare 0:48 to 0:08 when she says "search", or to 0:25 when she says "pepper" and "cucumber".

That's a linking R. Most non-rhotic English accents pronounce the 'r' when the following word begins with a vowel.
@Hsereal
@Hsereal 6 ай бұрын
@@pyrobola8715That's fair. I didn't notice the first time because the gap between "aware" and "of" was so long. I'm pretty sure I've heard her go rhotic with non-linking r's several times before, though. EDIT: Also, "cucumber" at 0:28 is a linking r (the next word is "edamame"), and she still goes non-rhotic with it.

As an Australian too I have no idea what she's talking about here. We very much have seasonal fruits.
@akaaoi
@akaaoi 6 ай бұрын
To be fair to Bae I just had a quick look at an official availability chart from one of Oz's major grocers (Coles in this case) and a lot of the mainstream fruits including apples, bananas, watermelons and strawberries were listed as available year round. It was only a smaller number that were unavailable some seasons, like apricots, cherries, mangoes and a few other more exotic fruits. With the ones that are available all the time, it'd probably be easy to miss the ones that do disappear if you don't eat them.
