Bafang M500 Speed Limit Increase - BESST - Solution - Read controller serial number

This is a quick video showing the issues with the BESST tool reading the controller serial number, and the 'best' way to overcome the issues so you can write speed limits greater than 25km/h (for use exclusively on private roads / trails)

Hi, I would like to ask for some advice. I am trying to increase the speed limit through the "besst" program. Unfortunately it won't let me. I can only set a lower value than 25km/h. have filled in the serial number correctly. error: "Dealer or Assembler can't change it to bigger." I tried the latest and older versions of "besst" Does anyone know how to do this please? Thx.

I wash my bafang bike since then the bike is off, it is on only when it is on charger and shows 100 percent but when you remove the charger the bike goes off immediatelly i dont know what to do can someone help? please

Can I use the best tool to add a display setting. My BBSHD is 52v but my display only has a 36 or 48v setting. It works okay but is not as good as it was with its original display (which broke)

Hi , I have a Jorvik mt7 tricycle with a 250 w mid drive motor bafang M 500. I thought the M500 wasn't programmable. I need to have more strength when I climb a steep slope and i would like to add a few amperes. Is the bafang M 500 really programable? If it is, Which cable to I need please ? You can update the wheel size and speed limits, but otherwise you cannot update any of the power delivery parameters. The tool is called the BESST tool. Cheers

My M625 doesn't have throttle from a dead stop. I have to be going a few km per hour for it to engage. Can I override that with this software and the tool?

I'm not 100% sure but on some versions, depending on the re-seller, this option has been disabled.

does this work through the USB port on the display unit? There is no port on the speed controller itself....

No. You need to use the BESST tool. Which plugs in-between the display and the main wiring harness.

the BESST tool? you might have to try online. otherwise there is no "cable" it plugs (inline) with the display, using the display connector.

I suppose you have used a can-bus to usb controller. Do you think this would work also for B020 Bafang rear motor?

The BESST tool is essentially CANBus to USB converter. But customised for Bafang. I don't know about B020 sorry

Yes you can. The process is the same for the M500 and M600. I do not know about the M510.

M600 are usually 45kmh already. What is yours?
