Bagging blades VS Mulching blades

Thank you. I’ve been bowering 4 hilly acres with a mulching blade for years. Now I see I may get better results with the bagging blade because all I want to do it cut and get it out from under my mower deck. Thanks for your video. I appreciate that you showed both blades.

Mulching mower blades, are designed to cut, and recut the grass down to a fine mulch, shooting the fine mulch back into the ground once again to refeed, renurish the grass, acting like a fertilizer to enhance your lawn, number one, and number two, to cause the lawn itself to have a greener look due to fertilizing the lawn, grass and mulching it down to much smaller, finer particles for decomposition, thus, causing the grass to be refed, nuriosed, if you will and as stated, for a much greener lawn.

@@tylerlong4696 Good question! It would work, it just wouldn't preform as well when compared to a bagging blade.

I've commercialy cut for a decade. Hi lifts for life. Even mulching. It'll dice it more due to the pressure difference. They understand how mulching works with mulching blades. But absolutely terrible design. It'll take twice as long due to it not pulling the grass up as much. It'll look a little more shaggy with taller blades of grass. If they could redo the design of mulching blades, it'll be excellent. Maybe a bigger fin at least. Would make a huge difference especially with residential mowers. Not much horsepower to mulch effectively.

Why do Craftsman stamp decks have so many holes and openings around the bearing towers? Anyone know?

You're right they have a large opening and open space between the spindle and deck. Great question, I do not know. Now I'm curious as well

Wouldn't it stand to reason that by using a mulching blade for bagging, the clippings would be chopped up finer reducing the number of times that bags have to be emptied? Also, going over unavoidable bald areas in the lawn during dry periods, the bagging blades tend to kick up a massive dust cloud, would mulching blades reduce the dust kick up?

I user mulching blades and generally bag my clippings. As you have stated, I can really pack in the clippings. Also, I find the cut to be much cleaner with mulching blades even when bagging compared to using bagging blades.

Most mulching blades don't create enough force to blow the clippings all the way up the chute into the bags. They're actually designed not to. The theory would be excellent though as I keep my clippings for compost so the finest I can get the clippings the better for me.

those are 3 n 1 blades. if you want mulching blades get gator blades.

Mulching only works if cut 1/3 kids other then that it will kill your lawn from breathing
