Oh my gosh, beautiful yarn. I really love that you said that you can't read patterns. Neither can I. I belong to a crochet group and one of the lady's made fun of me that I can't read crochet or knitting patterns. That being said, English is my 2nd language (I'm from Germany), and I can read English and I told her so, but just can't read patterns. You just gave me a really warm feeling when you said you can't either. That is why I really, really love your KZbin channel tutorials. They help me so much and I created really nice things which I never thought in my life I could. And most of it I donate to either women or homeless shelters. You are truly an inspiration ❤❤❤.

I'm so sorry that someone bullied you! I've been crocheting for over 50 years and only learned to read patterns about 10 years ago. It doesn't matter when we have great teachers like Crystal with her wonderful tutorials. 😀

I’m sorry you were made fun of bc you don’t read patterns. She is not a kind person. She should have offered to help you learn. I thought I couldn’t ever learn to read patterns but I did! Honestly, I believe you can learn too! ☺️❤️🧶

People can be so hateful. I always find it to be such a shame when an adult bullies. Hopefully you can let her rudeness go and that you realize she’s the one with a problem….not you. I’ve been crocheting since I was 8 years old. I’m 66 now and I didn’t learn to read a pattern until about 4 years ago. I didn’t need to. I was able to crochet just fine without knowing how to read a pattern. I decided I wanted to learn just because.

There's always one who is clueless that not everyone learns like they do. I can't read patterns either (although a craft group friend is helping teach me). I manage to create some beautiful items and often have the other ladies introduce me as " our resident crochet expert" . I'm flattered that all of these ladies who can read a pattern think I'm clever. I'm 53 and crocheting since I was 6. Taught by my Grannie and my mother. They both read patterns.

I enjoy your presentations. I crochet all the time (I am 83) and give the hats, scarves and blankets away to a local charity that keeps all the kids here warm during the winter.

Whew, I was seeing that lavender as a whole lot more purple than pink. As you say "We all see colors differently". My version of a mystery box is buying a box/bag of yarn at yard sales. I have purchased from Mary Maxim and really like their yarns. Love and hugs.

I have a quick crochet video made on my channel for scrubies. I use them in my kitchen and make them for gifts. I don't make videos but a friend wanted me to make some to show her how I make them. Can't overthink scrubie yarn and my video shows how quick and easy it is. Hope whomever you gift the scrubie yarn too can find it! Haha. Love your videos!

I have never done a gauge. My grandma taught me to crochet and I don’t remember her saying anything about gauge and this was before the internet. I suppose she expected that I would follow directions I’m not sure but she never taught me to read a pattern. I’ve always felt so limited in my crochet until I discovered you and many other professionals have helped me tremendously with your tutorials but @60 years old I’m finding myself wanting to learn to read a word pattern. I do well with the graphs on patterns without an issue most of the time. I’m in the middle of the Sophie’s Universe. I was gifted the pattern book and there are tons of pics and is written SO well that I’ve only had to seek help from the tutorials about 3 times. I’ve been very pleased.
