Ok. I had to wait to get home from work to do this one, and I'm not finished yet, but man is this beautiful! I think that if I make it again, I'll use a lighter color yarn. While the stitches are beautiful in the dark taupe that I'm using, they show so much better with the lighter color you used. Love this!!! I'm definitely going to be trying this hat. It's so funny because Juan the Yarn Addict had a video that he was trying to name a hat he made which was the star stitch. He was asking for people to help name the hat, and I wrote in the comments, "Oh My Stars". I think he named it Stargazer instead. I love that we both came up with the same name for a Star Beanie. This took some time. Had to adjust my tension. I tend to crochet tight. Changed hook and yarn. Restarted several times because I lost count on the stars. Lol. But I really like how it turned out. I may try adding a pom to the top.

hi Crystal, I really love this hat, I am making it already. I notice that when you did the second row of the hdc, since you did not make any increase stich, it was the reason of had to make an extra increase row. What I did was increase one stitch every other start, so at the time of making the next start row, I make 1 small and 2 normal, and I had the 36 starts like you suppose to. I hope you understand my explanation. Have a great time.
