One of our local community bands had an arrangement of 'Amazing Grace' that called for an oboe solo. The director decided he would rather have it played on pipes. His daughter is a friend of mine, and she asked me to do it. It was great and the crowd and the rest of the band loved it.

As it is the holiday season, the hotel I work for has employed a bagpiper to play each evening for the guests. Each night on the weekends the piper enters the hotel lobby, does a slow round in the lobby, jamming away on his bagpipe. Ever tried to check guests in to a hotel with a bag piper playing 50 feet away from you??

... The bagpipe is not a Scots instrument. In fact, Nero, you know, that jolly ol' Caesar that accidentally etcetera, is painted and described playing the bagpipe. Where PRECISELY the bagpipe came from is unknown, though fact is, the Scots adapted the instrument as theirs. Do note, I LOVE bagpipe... And Scotland!
@drrd41272 жыл бұрын
He never said it was a Scottish instrument, he said it was the national instrument. Also, the Great Highland Bagpipe with the 3 drones is very much Scottish, it actually sounds worse than the other types of bagpipes but it is much louder and catches your ear.
@Xogroroth6662 жыл бұрын
@@drrd4127 I know, darn. I am giving out a slightly more explanation into this weapon (YES, WEAPON. John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill. Even MORE lethal in combination with a Longbow.) And no, this too is mere deeper insight given into the aptly named Bagpipe.) Not a "new attempt" to set something straight", like you assumed incorrectly. :) IF I were setting something straight, I would have begun with "Incorrect." or something alike.
