Please excuse my correction Sherry Ann, Sinanglaw is a sour version of this soup usually soured by kamias with minimal to no bile. Papaitan is already an ilocano word as well.

I grew up in Baguio and I miss it so badly. I especially love your Baguio market video. I've been in every corner of that place. This Outlook karinderia is my favorite, not the fanciest, but one of the best in flavor and authenticity. I believe I ate there every week for months just before I migrated elsewhere. Farmer's Daughter is near the school where I taught before and most of my students like to hang out there on the weekends.. It's true, you need to drink your soup fast here in Baguio before it gets cold. 😆 love your enthusiasm as you explore Philippines and try our food. Some suggestions from a true Baguio girl: 1. Take a stroll in camp John hay, have lunch or cup of coffee in the Manor Hotel 2. Stroll around session road and go to the Oh My Gulay Vegetarian Cafe, and/ or Ililikha Artists Watering Hole 3. Have a Cordillera 3 hour Massage at North Haven aspa 4. Eat at the best Baguio restaurants with great food and ambience: Canto Bogchi Joint, Baguio Brewery, Rose Bowl Chinese Restaurant, Hamada Japanese Resto, Wood Nymph Korean Resto, Hill Station. Or go to Neighboring La Trinidad to be able to eat good traditional native food - if Farmer’s Daughter is still closed :) 4. See some of the museums - Like Ben Cab Museum, Baguio Museum 5. Before you leave have a good cup of Coffee at Seolen Cafe and have lunch at Bulalo Joint in Camp 7 Barangay. They’re close to each other, so take a walk. Enjoy!

Whenever you're in baguio, you should eat your soup as fast as you can because it will become cold in about 5mins or less. You definitely don't want a soup, or bulalo that is cold

If you want Marshall, you can visit Banaue, Ifugao too. Try exploring the North and you will get to see more nature. Nature is healing to the soul. You can try the Hot Spring in Hapao, Hungduan as well...

Papaitan comes from the root word "Pait" meaning bitter because the soup has bile on it. Papaitan is one of the better bile dishes as said by the late Anthony Bourdain.

It's nice to see you enjoying your stay here in Baguio. You can also visit Camp John Hay where Seafood Island is located and other shops to explore... During weekends we also have the night market where you can eat variety of Street foods.. It is located in Harrison Road near session road and burnham park... You can also visit the stone kingdom a new tourist attraction located in Long Long Benguet Rd... But most importantly, you should try at least 1 of the traditional food here in the Cordillera like kiniing, etag or watwat... May you have a great journey here in Baguio 😊

Farmer's Daughter has changed. I love the native house design they had before. The native house and native utensils like the coconut plates were the real attraction there. I wish they did not change the old style of their restaurant because it was so unique. Now, it looks so ordinary like a common cafeteria. Sad. 😕

Well, just as I said on your latest "pares" vlog, If you like the beef papaitan, then you may like the goat papaitan better, and it's less fatty. I don't know if you're still in Baguio or not, but Baguio announced just today they are limiting the number of incoming tourist that can enter Baguio to 4000, I think. But the coldest days are usually within mid January upto early or mid February. Anyway, there 4, 5, or more places that are much colder than Baguio. Trust me, you would need a thick jacket and layers of socks before getting under your blanket. Mankayan in Benguet is probably the coldest in the Philippines.

Should be a good place to eat since it's beside the barangay hall. That papaitan looks so spicy since you mixed with those small spicy peppers. Those red peppers colors stand out! I hope you enjoy there in Baguio. Change of weather at least.

Try to eat strawberry taho while it's cheap here in Baguio because when you return to Manila, everything will become expensive again. Try to visit Good Shepherd too and buy their ube jam. The money you pay will go to the scholars of the nuns making ube jams there. If you also want massage, please visit the blind people at the back of Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral. Kindly ask the security guards there for direction. Your support for the blind and deaf offering massage services there will be greatly appreciated. Take care Marshall...God bless!
