The 🏍 Bajaj Chetak is the first e-scooter from a mainstream manufacturer.
It has a range of 85km in Sport mode and 95km in Eco mode.
A 3 year/50,000km warranty is offered on the lithium-ion battery pack
Bajaj has entered the electric two-wheeler space with its Chetak e-scooter. It is powered by a 4.08kW, 16Nm electric motor that propels it to a speedo-indicated top speed of 69kmph. The 2.89kWh lithium-ion battery pack allows it to cover a claimed 85km in Sport mode and 95km in Eco mode.
The Chetak is also packed with features like keyless operation, full-LED lighting, fully digital instrumentation and a reverse function. The scooter is currently available in Bengaluru and Pune but sales will expand to nearly 400 ProBiking (KTM) dealerships across the country by July. The average speed in Bangalore City is 15kmph! So 60kmph top speed is more than adequate. The USP of Chetak is it's retro looks and Bajaj network. The scooter is designed to meet the needs of 98% of urban commuters, and does not need a charging infrastructure - if one has electricity at home and office, which I am sure 100% of riders do.

I was thinking to buy for my father, but only thing which is preventing is the weight. Dad wanted something lighter than his present bike, a Honda Dream Yuga, whose kerb weight is around 104 kg approx.but this due to it's metal body weighs 120+ kg, which is quite on heavier side. Since my dad is getting older, now 62, wanted something much lighter. Also heard at low speeds it's quite left leaning, which is risky

Come on people, Bajaj made the previous Chetak for retro boomers and the new one for now-boomers. They used the old one for city roaming and bringing groceries, so does the new one. They've made it clear no need to be hard on it and compare it to Ather or Aprilia, it's like comparing TVS XL to TVS RR310

I didn't get why they placed the charging plug under the seat. Most of the time we want to left it charging over night, in that case leaving the seat open is not a good idea

Electric vehicles has to pay 5% gst while petrol vehicles has to pay 28% gst, electric vehicles get huge subsidies for ex.-ather 450 gets 22000 subsidy. There is a difference in road tax RTO of petrol and electric vehicles which vary according to states. For ex- MP charges 8% on ex showroom for RTO for petrol vehicles whereas it's only 4% for electric vehicles. Battery would cost around 50000 in electric vehicles. Even after so much tax exemption and subsidies and benefits electric vehicles can't compete to even 110cc scooter in terms of performance i.e.acceleration and top speed and range and pricing even double and triple to petrol vehicles. Thus India should postpone it's electric vehicle plan and focus on declining automobile sector.

What I notice is a bear with big hair saying dum thing like cycle run on 60km speed, chetak have 4kw motor which can easily over almost 90% of Petrol scooter, iam not a fan, but please say what is real and don't bring such a dum ugly host, who runs 60km on today, most of big or scooters run 80km if they may get chance on City highway, pls Zig wheel don't bring such dum, Ather is 1lakh 45 thousand how it's best, u can fit 15k mobile for that all future rest is already in Bajaj
