I say this on every one of Pasquale's videos, best Italian chef on you tube & I thumbs up before I watch, can always change that vote, never had to, outstanding recipe, folks don't make enough chicken with basil, garlic, etc...sometimes I lay some fresh Buffalo mozz on top to melt near the end of cooking, I prefer bone-in skin on thighs or quarters with thigh& leg

Can I use spinach instead of the basil? Basil is only available on store now in Europe and this amount could be really expensive.

You can buy basil and rosemary and other herbs in the pots in supermarkets, they cost 1,5- 2 euros each ( in Germany) and they last for several months, sonetimes a year! ( you have to water them of course). very cost - effective!
