I never use foil to cook my potatoes in the Crock Pot and they always turn out great. I usually let them cook all day and by dinner time I have a an easy meal that comes together very quickly.

Instead of sour cream use the French onion dip. It's next to the sour cream in the dairy section of your grocery store. I also use it in mashed potatoes too.

Potatoes are a staple for me. I try not to eat too much oil or fats, so I put just a little olive oil, some salt and pepper, and usually eat with freshly warmed frozen broccoli. I make homemade "refried" beans (that are really never fried) that are vegan and often like to stir those beans in with the potatoes and broccoli. For me, it makes for a great meal on which I lose weight. (Left to my old habits I'd be adding sour cream, cheese, cheddar, butter, you name it. It tastes good without those things, and very satisfying.)

Love this idea. Not having a stove or oven, most everything I eat comes from the crackpot or microwave. Baked potatoes in the microwave are not my favorite. Will be trying this. What I put on a Baked potato, oddly, perhaps, are poached eggs, butter, green onions and pepper. Oh, I know, yuck 😢. But I like it. ❤
