Nice point about the karaokeversion backing track. Being able to just remove certain instruments make their tracks excellent.

Thanks Lynden. I’m getting use to reading just the letters. I know the melody so I found it fun to play. I still transcribed it to a score sheet and found it was in A major. I’ve checked out your videos for improvisation so I’m using the letters now for the chord tones. Thanks again for this lesson. I learn much faster when it’s just fun to play.

Great one as always Lynden. Your way of teaching is so inspiring and easy to follow. Thank you for taking time to do these videos. They have a significant impact in the saxophone community. I would love to hear you do Mercy Mercy Mercy by Cannonball Adderley including solo part like you did with Take Five.

Lynden, would you consider doing a tutorial on John Halliwell's solo off Give a Little Bit? Super solo but I always find the last run to the altissimo challenging.

Hi Lynden. Just picked up the backing track so thanks. Learnt this a little bit a few months back but will give it another go following your tuition. By the way, what’s your mouthpiece for Alto? I have a Jody Jazz Custom Dark which was my main but now gone back to my modern Meyer. Thinking of picking up a New York Bros copy from Get a Sax or Morgan Mouthpieces version. Any thoughts? Thanks again!!!😊👍🏻

Hi Gary and thank you so much. I’m glad that you got the track ok 👍 Here is a video that I made that tells you exactly which mouthpieces I use for bit alto and tenor and why I use them. Hope this helps 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎 Sax Mouthpieces kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5vRlJdugN2VgMU

Great video about your thoughts on mouthpieces. I went with the Jody Jazz as I did not want to much brightness but I find I’m playing better on the Meyer, mine is a 6 as that’s what my local music shop had. And what else I cannot believe is I have just put on the cheap 2 screw ligature which came with the Meyer and I cannot believe the difference in my sound and playing. I have may expensive ligatures but the cheap stock one plays the best, weird!! Your content I believe Lynden is the best on KZbin, I have followed them all for the last 2 years plus I’ve been playing but learnt much more since discovering your channel especially how to work out chords which were very confusing. Thanks again 👍🏻

@@garyjeneson1519 oh wow Gary, that’s absolutely made my day to hear that, thank you so much I really appreciate it 🤝🤝🤝 and I’m super happy that I’m able to help you. Yeah I’m old school when it comes to mouthpieces and ligatures, I just want to keep it simple and consistent. I totally get that some people like changing or trying new kit but I get satisfaction and security out of sticking to what I’m familiar with. It’s just my take though 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

The dispute is about who composed the riff. There's an early demo where Jerry clearly already had the riff in place.
@lyndenblades10 ай бұрын
Yeah Gerry definitely write the riff. I think in the iconic recording it isn’t Raff Ravenscroft but a session musician but not 100% sure

@@lyndenblades when I bought my first sax I bought Raff's study book but then I decided to get a tutor and he didn't follow books so I never finished it!
