When you’re stacking layers, I would recommend using something to support them like a straw, wooden dowel, or in this case a toothpick. That way it is more stable. Also this cake turned out SO cute I love it. And I would love to see a mini dog cake :)

Desperate for you to tweak your boxed cakes! I always add 1-2 extra eggs. Milk instead of water. And butter instead of oil, but double the amount they ask for. (Ex: 1/2 oil = 1 cup butter.) Those things will legit make your cake sooooo moist and decadent, it tastes like a legit bakeries cake. I make all my sons birthday cakes everyone always loves it and have no idea that I made it. I also love to decorate them! 😅 Also think about adding your own flavors to white cake box, and then adding a fresh fruit filling in between your layers! 🤤

Great video idea! Doing the crumb coating and letting it set in the fridge definitely helps. Especially for those being so tiny. Those would be so cute for a kid's party. They could all decorate their own little tiered cakes. Might be a lot of work though.

SO cute! If you have a small cake, chocolate ganache is an awesome way to just pour and then it sets, looks pretty darn perfect and is SUPER easy! Just good quality chocolate and heated heavy cream. I love it as a ganache, but you can also then whip it and it turns into a gorgeous creamy chocolate frosting

Good causes need funds & it doesn’t matter if it’s performative, as long as it’s helping people. There’s a reason they’re discontinuing those ovens, the olden days ones with the lightbulb cooking were much less painful to use because you could see what you were cooking

I'm a professional Baker/ Cake Decorator and I use cake mixes at home (I'm also a twin mom). Even when I baked at my work, we used mixes 95% of the time because we had to make SO many of them (sometimes up to 75 cake rounds at a time).

@MiaMaples I've commented this before buuuuutttt here ya go. Since you bake cakes so often I think you should know that if you follow the directions on the package but then add an extra egg (or two if you want a richer taste), replace the oil with melted butter but double the amount (if you need a tablespoon of vegetable oil instead put 2 tablespoons of melted butter), and replace the water with an equal amount of milk. It will taste literally like 1,000 times better. I do this every time I bake a cake and they taste like they were made from scratch. My sister actually did this for my wedding cake (I only had like 20 people at my wedding so it was a small cake) but everyone was saying how good the cake was and was asking which bakery we bought it from! Also if you buy store bought frosting if you just put it in a bowl and use the mixer on it, it makes it taste a lot better! You can also add like a teaspoon of vanilla to make it even better! Someone help me get this message to Mia!!!

Tips: With box cakes, replace the vegetable oil with melted butter and the water with milk for a more “made from scratch” feel. When you added too much food dye to the frosting, scoop some out with a spoon before you mix it through, or once you’ve already made frosting that’s too dark you could’ve taken like a teaspoon at a time of your dark frosting and added it to plan frosting rather than using the food dye again - it prevents complete wastage of the dark frosting.

I love the Make A Wish Foundation. They granted a wish for my nephew before he passed away at the age of 11. They gave my brother and his family extra special memories with my nephew to hold onto. My nephew's name still hangs in the Hall of Stars at Disney World. Their staff works extra hard to make special experiences for critically ill children. Many times giving them hope and encouragement, lifting them up. They will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for helping them to grant more wishes.
