Well done Dave for providing another basic budget recipe anyone can make, have you tried replacing the cream with a little extra milk and cheese to compensate, it tastes just as good and you don't have to worry about what to use the remaining cream on. Depending on where you shop for your ingredients the price for 8 slices only costs me 43p per slice, and that's not using the supermarkets own branded items. Also sent you a recipe via email.

We did a comparison with local prices. Here's the results: flour 9 cents (was surprised at that) lard 38 cents, butter 53 cents (but that's the super cheap butter that I can never find in person). Onion 45c, cheddar $1.30 (again the super cheap on sale stuff). Cream - I didn't know what %mf your cream is so went whipping cream % 29c, eggs $1.36, oil 10c. I didn't cost the salt and pepper. Total $5.13ish per quiche or 85c per slice in Canadian dollars

Hi,what if you don't have double cream, how would you adjust the eggs and milk ratio?
@BakingOnABudget5 ай бұрын
Single cream would work out fine....same amount

Catching up on the last video and todays video too. Beautifully done with the both. Sundays are my baking day having a go at making wholemeal foods 😊 keep the great work up!

Do I need to grease the flan dish.Also if you were adding bacon how much would you add. Many thanks Antony
@BakingOnABudget6 ай бұрын
Yes grease the tin and I would use about the same amount of bacon as the onions for a covering.

I made this, it was delicious. I like the pacing of these videos. It’s no nonsense and straight to the point but slow enough for me to follow along

Thanks a lot....glad to hear you enjoyed the quiche.

Definitely going to make this. Can I ask if it’s ok to use semi skimmed milk rather than whole milk. TIA
@BakingOnABudget6 ай бұрын
Semi skimmed will be okay, it's just a bit richer with the whole milk and cream.
