Awesome recipes made by an awesome gentleman. For some reason, i get very nostalgic watching your content. You remind me of the 90s when i was in primary school and we had to make scones, cakes and cookies. Such a great time period in my life. What i really like about your recipes is that they're very basic and cost effective, yet look delicious. It's the kind of food i was brought up on. I wish you and your channel all the best sir.

Canada is also getting more communistic, we are not allowed 'news' on Facebook anymore ... you can't rent a 1 bedroom apartment that's nice for under $1800, homes average from $700K where I live to well over millions. I just paid $7.99 CAD for a 5# bag of carrots. A large sweet onion is $.2.99 a pound. Crazy. @@BakingOnABudget

Well done Dave for providing another basic budget recipe anyone can make, have you tried replacing the cream with a little extra milk and cheese to compensate, it tastes just as good and you don't have to worry about what to use the remaining cream on. Depending on where you shop for your ingredients the price for 8 slices only costs me 43p per slice, and that's not using the supermarkets own branded items. Also sent you a recipe via email.

Yes there are a few cost options in this recipe, I use quite a bit of cream so it made sense to use it here but milk would do the job. Thanks.

Ive always been scared of attempting quiche 😃 but im definitely going to make this one and its so economical as for two people you can get 2 or 3 meals out of it. The pastry is so simple and much better than shop bought. I love your channel and look forward to your recipes every week 😊

Hi BAOB. Just found this channel and subscribed. Love it, thank you. My daughter doesn't like onion, so I'd like to add maybe ham but deffinately broccoli. I'm guessing I'd boil first but do I add it before the cheese, mix it with the cheese or doesn't it matter? Thank you.
@BakingOnABudget

Thanks....yes I would boil the veg first....and you could add it at any point the liquid will mix it all together. Hope you all enjoy it.

As I no Englishner , PLEASE USE BOTH CELSIUS AND FAHRENHEIT IN THE VIDEO. There's no way that you can cook a quiche or anything else at 178 degrees for 30 min l or whatever time.. a quiche must bake at 375 to 450 to get done in 30 minutes..

We did a comparison with local prices. Here's the results: flour 9 cents (was surprised at that) lard 38 cents, butter 53 cents (but that's the super cheap butter that I can never find in person). Onion 45c, cheddar $1.30 (again the super cheap on sale stuff). Cream - I didn't know what %mf your cream is so went whipping cream % 29c, eggs $1.36, oil 10c. I didn't cost the salt and pepper. Total $5.13ish per quiche or 85c per slice in Canadian dollars
@BakingOnABudget
@BakingOnABudget 3 ай бұрын
That's interesting $5.13 Canadian dollars is about £2.90 British Pounds.....so not too far away form the £2.34 UK cost. Thanks a lot.

I think I should import you straight to my kitchen. I have a huge pantry and two large deep freezes which you can access to your hearts content. I can offer an organic garden which is all for your use. A large garden cottage where you can feel right at home. The only condition would be baking and cooking something simple but tasty every day. I don't ask for much and you can use your imagination on what to make each day. I promise I won't say a word besides, thank you that was delicious! 😅😂😊
