Idea, Tate and Lyles tastes different to supermarket golden syrup. Buy one bottle of each, use T&L first, decant the cheaper into the tin to give it that additive taste.

Question which applies to other recipes and I’d love to hear from you once and for all! When a recipe calls for say 100 ml of a liquid what does it actually weigh or how to work it out. Containers with markings are so vague. I’m perpetually confused 🙏🏻

Only realised once I’d put them in the oven, I definitely think 80g of butter is best

Also no mention of adding lemon juice in the recipe either. I must remember to go by the transcript rather than the recipe. 2nd batch seem to have turned out rather well, I’ve not tasted them yet, although I definitely could of made more than 6 muffins this time as they are very large! Yum yum

When I saw this, it was right up my street. The batter was slightly loose after I added the milk so instead of adding more flour, I added some desiccated coconut instead, OMG! takes it to another level imo. Thanks Dave, keep ‘em coming. Best wishes, Gill x👍🏻

Thankyou for all of your super, easy to follow videos. I am learning more from your super videos than I can remember learning when I did a cookery course at school. I love how all of this is real cooking in a real kitchen. The pots and pans have obviously seen much use, and the videos are all the better for that. I was taught to cook in the 1960s by Miss Patti and I have always considered myself an above average cook …..from bread to desserts decked with toffee fans nothing has ever fazed me. However I have never been able to make muffins or fairy cakes. Always a failure! That is until today. I followed your recipe and behold….a miracle. Six amazing lemon muffins in no time at all. And even made in those delightful artisan cake papers! I did do a modification because I don’t like icing so I made a sugar and lemon juice drizzle that I poured on when the muffins were warm. So thank you Mr Baker , an excellent teacher. Sent with kind regards.

Very nice. If you use a good quality baking margarine or else sunflower oil, that would bring the cost down even more, I think. Also, so much of the expense of baking is using the electric oven, so baking these while the oven is on for something else is a good idea. Or use the air fryer if you’ve got a muffin tin that will fit.
@BakingOnABudget5 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot....I usually have a few thing to put in the oven at the same time and that gets the average cost down.
