I think it being kinda unsatisfying tho was kinda the point. While yes they had the potential to be redeemed, they could have left the Vexos well before then. Like why should you be redeemed now after you tried to commit genocide on the Bakugan, and leave them extinct. Now you want out, after your plan failed because the Vexos aren't really convenient for you now. And you've come to realize no one wants to really be friends with war criminals and traitors, and you wish you made a different choice. Volt you're upset that the Vexos made you give up Brontes - well maybe you could have left the Vexos then instead of trying to kill all the Bakugan. Lync you want to walk away and build a life on earth instead to spend more time with Alice - maybe you could have done that instead of help Mylene take the Subterra energy. Why do they get to walk away now.

The one thing that gets me is that at least in terms of the Vexos, they were all teenagers. Lync was only 14 when he died and the rest were 16+. Hydron just wanted to impress his dad which made me sad for him when he died. Just crazy to think about. And Bakugan actually made these characters stay dead which was wild to me as a kid. I think one of these days I'll have to rewatch the show now that I'm older. I was sad to see Sellon and Anubias die. They definitely needed more screentime and I truly feel like they could have been redeemed.

Battle Brawlers, New Vestroia, Gundalian Invaders, through these three series, bakugan transforms from a kid's game to a war for life or death, and this is no accident in my opinion. It's as if the anime adapts to the maturation of its audience, children who over the years become adolescents, but remain interested in the anime that offers a more mature and aware atmosphere. Something similar also happened with Yu-Gi-Oh between the second and third series, passing from the all in all reassuring environment of the school to that of the hostile city, of the motorcycles that whiz by, as well as of dark conspiracies and deadly threats always behind the corner

Had volt successfully taken hydron with him what likely happens is lync successfully gets the alternative plans to Alice without being intercepted and assuming they hash things out, likely takes part in the battle on the alternative. Assuming lync doesn’t take hydron’s place in preventing Zenoheld from escaping, Zenoheld either makes a last stand with assail formation, at which point he loses due to the sheer number of bakugan against him or does in fact escape. But even if he does he can’t really do anything since professor clay would also be dead.

As a kid when this first aired, Hydron was legit terrifying to me, merely because he resorted to damage control and killing off characters left and right. Volt and Lync appeared in like the first episode, and despite being antagonists no different than Julio or Komba in the first series, they both bit the dust despite trying to atone. And up until that point in the show-as is according to the compilation-no human had really died yet. The closest thing was Masquerade and Hal G. but both of them were just alternate personalities, so these deaths actually really hit. Hell, Mylene and Shadow were irritating, but even then, I don’t know if they deserved to die like that…Pokémon was the only other show by that point I saw a human character die in, that being Hunter J during the Diamond & Pearl arc, when she and her crew drowned in a whirlpool. But back to Bakugan, I stopped watching the show by the 3rd season, didn’t hate it, just couldn’t keep up with buying the merchandise at some point, and the 2 friends I grew up watching this show with both had to move away, so yeah…

Hunter J's death was the equivalent of the writers throwing her character in the dumpster to be forgotten. It was like they wrote "and then she died, the end". Seriously it was so sloppily done, no one acknowledges it at all in the show after it happens or even WHILE it happens. Even here while the vexos deaths are rushed AF, they at least have consequence. J's death meant absolutely nothing.

Volt and Lync’s deaths were the most heartbreaking, especially since they didn’t get to say proper goodbyes to to Brontese and Alice. At least Shadow and Mylene had a somewhat happy/romantic ending together. At least the same thing didn’t happen to most of the infiltrators in s3.

The Vexos deaths were one of the biggest mistakes in Bakugan. In my opinion, they should have been all with the brawlers, fighting against Zenoheld, realising their mistakes of following a tyrannical monster. Maybe Hydron would have sacrificed himself to atone his sins of the past. Clay could have died the same original way, saving Mira and looking at the Gundalian-Neathian battle. However, The Vexos could have battled Hydron and then convince him to join them with the brawlers and we could have observed an infinity war like situation with the Brawlers, Vexos and Hydron vs King Zenoheld. Sadly, the series finished a long time ago, so we just have to live with this ending. I'm not hating on New Vestroia, it is the best bakugan season in my opinion and many others agree, but the ending and the later bits of the second half felt really rushed and screwed up Feel free to debate.

I've always thought that when they mentioned that Hydron mentioned that they'll be sent to the far reaches of the dimension, I literally had a fan theory that they were either sent to Gundalia, Neathia or this Limbo-like world. Remember the episode when Mylene threw a deathball when she lost to Mira and Spectra, she and Shadow Prove were sucked in this other world and the brawlers lost them. That was the only time we saw what them going to another dimension. To be honest, the whole dimension idea felt as if they just dumped the Vexos character arc into the garbage can but it's likely that they are sort of not dead as the Bakugan Wikia says that only Hydron, Clay and Zenoheld are obviously dead because of the alternative weapon exploding, but for the rest of the Vexos are presumed deceased, meaning that they are 50% likely still alive (sort of). Bakugan the Original Series kinda had some plot holes needed to be filled, not just New Vestroia but for Battle Brawlers and Gundalian invaders. Mechtanium Surge is what I would like to call a wasted season. It had so much potential in the first arc but they were relying on fan service such as Spectra or Barodius (MagMel) which felt heavily wrong. I could do a whole essay on how Mectanium Surge is a wasted. Sometimes it is hilarious on all of the missed opportunities.

Yes, I watched Mechtanium Surge when I was a kid and I felt happy when Spectra returns but completely realised that he was only there for fan service like Barodious/MagMel. Paige and Rafe (the new brawlers) felt as if they just came out of nowhere and slipped into the story rather than being integrated into the actual plot. I actually really wished for Mira and Fabia to be in the Mechtanium Surge Arc as the new Subterra and Haos brawlers. We could have even seen a Wilda and Aranaut evolution. Sadly, those two got relegated to the minor character category with Fabia being the new Queen (an absolutely idiotic decision) and Mira, just transforming into a skillful, cool brawler to this lame cheerleader like Julie and Runo became by New Vestroia with this annoying scrote for a bakugan called Roxtor. Mechtanium Surge was disappointing to me as a kid and disappointing to me now. Maybe a great season theoretically but poorly executed!

Hydron is a boy (he is 16 years old) who went crazy for his father, he practically decided to commit suicide because he wanted to take his father with him to make him pay. It is a very dark take for a program aimed at children because Hydron and almost all the Vexos were raised from a very young age as soldiers and some do not know how to be more than that, in the end they die and there is no "happy" ending for them. Although not everyone wanted to redeem themselves, some like Lync (at 14 years old) were denied that possibility.

Given Hydron's words, the Death Cubes don't directly kill their victims, but the trip they undergo seems to off them. Assuming, of course, the victims aren't sent to the Doom Dimension, which admittedly is little better. I honestly didn’t think Volt and Lync actually died. Just sent it to some present dimension. It’s extra sad that Volt’s partner, Brontes was abandoned and hoping Volt would save him. Only for it to _never_ to be resolved. I know the main purpose of the series is to sell toys like a lot of kid shows, but still not an excuse for a lazy writing.

Preyas and Hydranoid have the same Gs (Preyas didn't directly evolved) the only one female that they showed respect was Mylene. Pointess death Elico that was killed for NOTHING because somehow gus survived without a scratch. Dan/Drago became from good characters to cliche. (The protagonism is the strongest)

And even if the protagonist didn't win it was only for some kind of plot twist that would then become redundant later.
