What do you do about audio if you have to take the handle off?

Field recorder, then sync it in post.

@@NoahHeinicke unfortunately, no it doesn't. You'd need a portable audio field recorder. Use a slate or clap your hands. That would be your cue for later, to synchronize your sound. I'm sure you could rig audio attaching it to the gimbal's handle too but your audio would be limited to distance from the subject. Since you and the subject would likely be moving, have them wear something like a Zoom F2 BT Lavalier attached to them.

Hi Sam does this gimbal actually manage to smooth out vibrations properly ? the ronin S was unable to with anything heavier than a tiny DSLR and really lacked stiffness. The slightest tap to the bottom of the handle would visible vibrate the frame

I have a super simple audio setup but here’s a video showing you how I set it all up and the camera settings etc. I also use my own presets which are available on my website. Does anybody have problems triggering their Sony Cameras with the record button on the RSC2? I just tried with the latest firmware on my RSC2 and FX3 and it triggers the cameras record but it get's stuck, tally lights are red but the camera does not record and does not stop even from the camera. I have to turn the power off and force reboot the camera.... Any suggestions? The aperture works fine with the wheel. Connecting via USBc - USBc C remote activated...

@@SamHolland I have the same question: unlike the fs 5, the fx 6 does not have a xlr audio in on the body anymore - how do you get a good audio with a serious shotgun - Schoeps, Neumann, Sennheiser - on that rig ? And I mean a syncronised audio without having to use a clapperboard like in the old days of 16 mm film and Nagra audio...
