Hey dude great vid! Whats the range of the raveneye? I was thinking about buying one just to control my cam on range for taking vids of myself. Would that work?
@keith-knittel
@keith-knittel 4 жыл бұрын
@@user-dh5fp4gw1b that's a really good question, and I have no idea the answer to it. I haven't experienced any dropouts in the same room. This is probably dependant on your device's wifi range as you're using your device's wifi to connect to the RavenEye's wifi. So depending on how well your device can pick up that connection? I'll have to test that out with my iPhone!

how would you mount a microphone to this, just on top of the camera or is there a suitable clamp to go on the side?
@keith-knittel
@keith-knittel 4 жыл бұрын
You can mount a small mic to the top and balance your camera from there, but you probably wont be able to go into underslung mode. You can get some NATO adapters to mount to the side of the gimbal (on the left/right sides of the screen). I used a NATO handle with cold shoe mounts on the end to mount to the side of the gimbal, but the mobility of the gimbal will be limited. I might add these to a future video!

You mentioned a great funtction ... MACRO shots where you leave the gimble alone and use your phone for most controls. However with the FOCUS motor installed, how do you also zoom in/out from your phone WITHOUT touching the gimble? We have programmed the wheel at the front to work for focus motor, but now, how do you control this from your app on your phone and still have access to pan and tilt on the gimble? Thanks for the great work you do.

@@keith-knittel Yes, I use Auto focus but I want to use ZOOM (not focus) so .. I want to be able to have the focus wheel turn my zoom lense but do this from my phone, not from the wheel on the gimble. The idea is to be totally free/wireless of the gimble, while changing the pan/tilt etc by simply moving my phone. Thanks for your quick response.

@@AjamSonic Ooh, I'm sorry! I must have read that too quickly and thought you wanted to use the focus and zoom at the same time. I'm not aware of any way to use the Ronin app to use zoom or focus. Only things like start/stop recording and camera settings. You might have to use an external system to make this work the way you're imagining. I think you could use the extension handle with the cable that DJI sells on their website, but it's not truly "wireless" then

Any suggestions for a monitor on the RS2 Pro and how you would rig it up?

I’ll be going over that in my next rs2 video! I thought this would be an easy solution but I had some issues and have tried multiple mounts and cables, and think I’ve come up with a great solution! I have a few more things to test but that video is on my to-do list! Thanks for watching

Is there any way to have the screen on the a7siii be on while connected to raven eye? I hate that I lose the touch to focus functionality when I connect to raven eye.

Hey there Theophany - I don't have the A7Siii so I can't test this or weigh in here. Sorry - does anyone else here have this setup that can help?

Hi, do you know if it is possible to use Nikon D7100 camera with Ronin s2 gimbal, and which cable should I use? Also which cable should I use for raven eye? Thank you.

Hey there, I'm not sure if that is compatible. Check the link in the description to the DJI compatibility list. I unfortunately don't have any Nikon cameras to test out. Thanks for watching - can any Nikon users comment here and let us know how Nikons work with the RS2?

Thank you for the menu lock! First time using it, I was constantly making un-wanted changes. Also, be sure to really, and I mean really tighten you locks on the RS 2. Shooting from a Heli, I got some un-wanted vibrations and I think it was mainly not really tightening down on the clamps on the carbon arms.

Ooh man, that sounds fun! Shooting from a helicopter sounds like a great time, were you using super smooth on your RS2? That's supposed to eliminate any micro jitters from things like that. I use Super Smooth when filming the car videos on my channel and have had some great results. Thanks for the kind words and watching!

Hay bro I have the same gimbal, with the bm6 pro. The camera barley fits. Iam having trouble with the base plate that mounts to the gimbal, as it tends to loosen a bit and the balance goes crazy , also I have 2 focus motors and i dont have enough ports as i also have a ssd external card. the gimbal is cool just trying to work out the bugs

Great informations. What do you recommend for smooth cinematic shoots. Is there a way to set up die Motors?
@keith-knittel
@keith-knittel 4 жыл бұрын
I just posted a video on my channel where I used a number of different gimbal follow speeds and motor strengths. I learned if you want cinematic shots, the slower follow speeds are better - but significantly harder to follow faster moving objects. The faster follow speeds are great for fast motion, but require much more skill to keep steady and avoid unintentional movements in the gimbal. Don't be afraid to change your gimbal speeds frequently!

thanks for posting, this helped alot. One thing I am unclear about. is how do I auto focus through the app . I can push the button on the gamble as you described and it works fine. But I can not find where I would do this when I have the raven eye working
@keith-knittel
@keith-knittel 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not aware of you being able to focus through the app via the raven eye, you can attach the focus motor on your RS2, but you'll need to use the wheel to focus. I use autofocus on my camera mostly because the A7SIII's focus is better than I'll ever be able to pull focus! Thanks for watching and glad it helped you

If you plug your camera into a normal HDMI monitor will your camera get a feed? Are you using any camera control cables? I don't have a canon camera to test with this, but I know using a USBC camera control cable with my Sony cameras presents problems! Thanks for watching
