I will never understand why people will photograph and talk and do nothing for WEEKS?????? These poor critters that are tossed away ..it is beyond ,cruel. All they want is to love and be loved. He had such a tough time for a while there. I am grateful to his foster carers who brought him back from a very bad place, and then nursed him back to health after distemper. Poor lad. Thankfully he made it and there's a happy ending to his story with a new forever family.

Distemper is very serious, but maybe you mixed it up with Parvo, which has a 95% mortality rate. With Distemper it is usually 50-50, and even if the doggie survives, he will usually have serious neurological damage, resulting in seizures and other issues. It will also damage the immune system. Abel got really lucky, it seems he just recuperated without any lingering effects, probably because his guardians noticed it quickly and knew what to do.

Absolute proof that not all Angels have wings! Wonderful job! We've had a special needs rottweiler with neurological issues as a foster for care for 4+ months now as we've helped him acclimate and recover from his old....."home". He goes to his forever home in 3 days and is 99.5% recovered! His adopters are a very kind & loving couple with two other special needs dogs, so he should be well cared for and loved!

I love happy endings! He went through so much, but his foster mom took such good care of him and was there for all his needs. And the transport people are so awesome to bring him all the way to his forever home so he can be loved and hang out with his doppelganger brother. ❤️ 💙
