I started in dog rescue in 1980. Very different back then. I am physically unable now to rescue so it just makes me so joyful to see the younger generation stepping up to the plate and rescuing. When you are older, and can’t do it anymore, you too will feel the same way as you watch another generation of compassionate people step up and rescue. Your life will be so fulfilled when you think back to all the animals you saved. Stay the course!

We need so many more foster homes in this country because hundreds and hundreds of dogs are being killed every day in shelters for lack of a place to go. I see comments on posts asking people to foster and they say save the dog, save the dog or prayers, and nothing saves these dogs unless people step up to foster and donate to rescues.

The people who foster are heroes, it’s a tough job ! Me I would have a houseful lol. But I understand that this is a critical part to saving as many dogs as you can ! I have nothing but respect to the rescue community! And I donate money and supplies because I can’t foster ! And I adopt from shelters I don’t shop ! At one point I had 5 cats and 5 dogs . 2 of them I got in 2004 when they were 8 weeks old . Now they are 18 yrs and 9 months on march 10th . All the cats except one was adopted from a shelter . The 5th one I found as a stray . 2 of the 5 dogs were rescued seniors . Who lived another 7 yrs . . And one was a stray . He lived 8 more yrs .Since then 3 dogs have passed. The stray and the 2 rescues . And 2 of the 5 cots have passed. I miss them all . I only will adopt from shelters and I have no problem getting seniors ! But thanks to all the people like these ! They are truly hero’s ❤

Rescuing animals in need is a GREAT thing to do, but I couldn't do it for a couple of reasons. One is that it would be hard for me not to get attached to the dogs or cats. Two, how do you know that you're adopting them out to ppl that will treat them, right, & love them? That would weight heavy on my mind.

That Momma dog was able to do her very best for her cutie baby puppies because she had her most wonderful home and loving Foster Parents to go through it all with her. I loved how much your Ruby and Cholula became instant best friends. I am so glad Cholula and her puppies had that playing, doggy family time together. You two Foster Dad and Momma are the best. Incredible, selfless, all-in loving and resilient. I guess what we were all seeing was how heaven on Earth happens. And, I see how the parting sacrifice made it possible for another Momma dog and her family to receive that same level of love...the secure and nuturing environment when it is most needed. Your beautiful story was written and filmed... put together perfectly so we all could see how a better world occurs. Your dedicated intervention at the right time made it possible for the healthy, happy, giving love to multiply... Cholula and her 8 puppies makes 9 adopting families who inherited the opportunity to embrace all the joy and wellness their new dog/puppy was bringing into their home. And, when love begets love all the members of the adopting family are involved in a joyful process of giving their new pet all that he or she needs...which in turn ensures they are able to reciprocate to their family as a whole and, at those times, when an individual in the family needs their family pet to cheer, comfort, and care for them. The cycle of how best lives are built with the introduction of one precious pet adoption at a time. And, all the while, each Foster Family- Parents are working on their next miracle living gift of love that comes packaged in the form of their new pet and for the pet... they receive their forever family of people. ❤❤❤
