This week I went under it again to clear it since I didn't get stung the first time and it was a success, but I came home cause I wanted to see what type of bee it was. It's crazy I can't concentrate on anything. . they've ruined every day for me for weeks... I won't go into the whole story but I don't want my RV torn apart... Today they came down into the light... I was glad to learn that they are heat sensitive... The entry point is a grey water vent pipe. They were coming into my closet around that pipe ... The young man that came foamed around that. So they could not get inside. Then they covered the entry point with rags. Soaked in hornet killer. . that was yesterday .. today they came down into my light fixtures.... It was like an Alfred Hitchcock movie...supposedly there's some chemical that you can put on the entry point and then they go in to the nest and kill from the inside. I believe a lot of them died because they couldn't get out of the ceiling.... But I'm not taking any lenses off my lights till I know they are dead... Everytime I get stung I have a worse reaction. . it's been a difficult day today. 🥵

The bald faced hornet is one of the most aggressive stingers of the wasp family. The reason they are so dangerous is because UNLIKE bees, they do not have barbs on their stingers and can repeatedly sting 3-7 times per second, thus injecting a great deal of their poison. This is what causes so much serious injury or death when attacked. They also release an emergency beacon when only ONE hornet is threatened. And once the beacon is turned on, a huge group of them come flying out and attack the victim. I know this because I watched approx 100 of them attack my son when he just brushed one away that flew in front of his face. He recvd over a dozen stings before he ran into the house screaming. These guys are violent and scary and are likely to be fatal when stung by swarms. The only option is to kill them. In regards to our ever growing problem of pollination and bee deaths.......get involved! Become a bee hive keeper!

I used to take the nest just like what you have and i would use a high gloss urethane spray and put around 3 coats and when you put the clear coat on the nest would really display all of the different color bands of the pulp that they cultivate from different types of trees. It's really a work of art. Then i would hang them up to display. If you put enough clear urethane spray gloss it will pretty much mitigate the rotten smell. Try it; you would really be surprised. Great video...

I got too close trying to find out what kind of wasp or hornet etc they were! LOL! (Dead western yellow jackets are terrible smelling too!!! I keep the traps around my hummingbird feeders and then flies are attracted to the rotten smell and then I get a two-for!!) Woohoo!

I'd love to see you train a machine learning algorithm or something to count the number sucked up and show a live counter just for an additional conveyance of scale (clearly that's why this technology was designed!) =D

That sounds like an amazing idea

Can you set the nest on fire after removal next time? They say wasp nest will burn like paper.

He's not a guy who has it out for hornets, yellow jacjets and wasps. They're important to the eco system. They're being removed because they're not in a great area.

It's crazy how interesting and smart these hornets can be.

@Hornet King - Did you see the news story of the hornet nest in Staten Island, NY ? A HUGE (2 feet x 2 feet they say) nest hung in a tree by the curb in a suburban neighborhood and the city would not come out to remove it :-O I immediately thought they should call you :) Follow-up: Some kind man (bee keeper) came subsequently to remove them after seeing the story on TV! I’m curious do you use a soap water mixture in your vacuum or do you eventually relocate the hornets/wasps/bees? Edit: nvmd lol I see at the end of the video, but do you relocate bees?

Once again Mr Hornet King you blow me away every time with your knowledge and your sense of humor which is so important. Thank you again,so enjoyable I am sad when it’s over especially when “The Girls” are in it and are so fun to watch, I did enjoy them running from the hornets on the last video, too funny.

How can I send you some photos of wasps I have? I want to identify them but no clue what they are and they KEEP coming back, we’ve sprayed (only way I know how to keep from getting stung) but literally they keep coming back! 😭 This is the 3rd time we’ve sprayed.. They are staying in our shed! Paying no rent, living their best lives....

Relocate the nest? Why relocate? The best hornet is a dead hornet. Take that nest and put it in an enclosure and set it on fire.
@Noxious9223 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. These assholes need murdered! They are pointless and offer no benefit to society.

Wasps and hornets provide an important role in the ecosystem as predators. They actually eat a lot of crop pests. They become an issue when they set up shop in houses and such but in the wild just leave them be. They may not be as “cute” as other animals but they’re alive like any other

I get it when people want to remove bald faced hornet nests, but just to express another viewpoint, I think hornets are pretty awesome. They are super beneficial. I have always had at least two big nests on my property every year. They never attack unless provoked and they are excellent at attacking other pests. I used to have trouble with cabbage worms, deer flies, yellow jackets and others, but no more, my little black-jacket friends defend me. I believe they recognize me too. Last year there was a big nest in the ceiling of my chicken coop. I still did all my normal chores right underneath. They never bothered me and I never bothered them. There my minions!
