"There is grief in my heart, and there will be until death." Moments like these are what make your show shine so bright. Its so easy as a westerner to chalk up the soviet union to just being that one chapter in history class, but the effects of that period are still fresh in the minds and lives of so many millions of people, like these eclectic folks that you meet in your trips through the European backcountry. You're out there bringing millions of eyes into the lives of these forgotton people. Those babushkas, like many others that you've met, all seem so excited to meet new faces and share their stories and its such a beautiful thing that you're out there giving them the platform to do so. I hope this coronavirus doesn't give you too much trouble in continuing your travels, stay safe and healthy. Cheers!

Its an almost unimaginable horror in the idea that your family could just be chucked on a train to suffer a hellish existence in a camp in a frozen inhospitable place, and that your sister could die and be thrown like trash from the train to lie forgotten without even a grave. I read a while ago about the R504 Kolyma Highway, a 2,000 kilometre mass grave for the victims of Stalins genocide. Thousands of people died constructing this road and were buried pretty much where they fell their remains serving as foundations for the road, hence its more commonly known name of the road of bones.

Vizuali Kelione Brian Cuddy My father was Moldavian, my mother Transylvanian, they married and lived in Romania, so I can claim easily Moldavian heritage, I have that accent if I want 😀 when I speak Romanian, I have it at will, you can take me for one of them any time 😀 The dialect they speak is Romanian with a strong Russian accent, being under Russian occupation roughly for about 200 years, on and off, while the Russian alphabet was imposed by the Czarist Russia and later by the soviets. They forced Romanian language to renounce the Latin alphabet and established it had to be written in the Cyrillic script. Moldova was in fact a region of Romania when 2 of the 3 Romanian speaking principalities in the area united in 1859 under the name of Romania, state-name taken from the spoken language of the inhabitants, a Latin-based language similar to Italian with slight Balkan influences. The Moldavians (Moldovans) were constantly taught in the soviet controlled school that Moldavian was a separate language, which had nothing to do with Romanian at all.🤣 Russian propaganda: divide et impera = divide and rule. From my father I have the knowledge of what happened there. The deporting of hundreds of thousands of Moldavians to Siberia and Kazakhstan, started in 1940 and ended in 1953 but the most dramatic part was that the vacant villages were repopulated practically overnight with Russians and "inconvenient" minorities that had to be dislodged in order to weaken them, "imported" from other states of the Soviet empire, brought to live into the houses of the deportees. Not one house was spared or left empty, although they were all padlocked. After the death of the dictator, when the deportees were allowed to return, the occupants of their homes refused to move out, so nobody actually got their own homes back. The first ones retuning home communicated with the others left behind and told them about this important detail, that their homes are now occupied by Russians and others who fiercely claimed ownership, so some Moldavians who managed to erect with sacrifices and hard work any improvised dwelling in Siberia or Kazakhstan, preferred to stay put, instead of returning to absolutely nothing in Moldova, not keen to be homeless witnesses of strangers living their ancestral homes. This is the reason why Transnistria broke away - at the border were brought many Russian colonists to make sure that the border of Moldova will stay always open to the Russians and they will have "the right cooperation there" if needed to get in, the same as at the border of Ukraine as we saw in the recent conflict. There never existed a Transnistrian state prior to 1924, Transnistria being a slice of Moldova given to the Russians by the Ottoman Empire who occupied for 400 years almost all of Eastern Europe together with Moldova. That region was deliberately populated by the soviets with as many Russians as possible for "just in case". Half Moldova in fact is in Romania and half is the Republic of Moldova of today. What the Russians feared was that Romania and Moldova will reunite into the one country they were previously, so when they thought this was about to happen, they sent troops to break Transnistria away. After Romania joined EU, the fear grew even larger that Romania, like Germany, might reunify taking away from Russian control those regions, so Russia offered generously free work-visas to Moldavians in order to attract as many as possible in Russia and even offered Russian citizenship to them, because Romania did that same thing 2 years earlier for all Romanian speaking Moldavians, but not Russian ethnics, except mixed families who spoke the language.

Harald Baldr is taking a new direction with his "progressive Lance" - good luck to him, i found his previous style a bit confrontational. Also he started chasing that guy and you could argue that Harald antagonised the situation dragging Bald into the street brawl. You cant reason with some people , in a sense you were lucky he was'nt carrying a gun - Gingers have souls whats the chances lol.

I didnt find the video funny, if staged it shows the USA in a bad light - Real Americans dont behave that way in my personal experience. I used the maja hat in myself promoting hardcore techno but im not pro trump i just think its funny to swap america for the word hardcore and to have trump wearing it. The MAja hat is just a symbol and we civilised humans and cats dont get riled up by symbolism. Just as if i see the swastika i dont think nazis as i know that that symbol has other meanings elsewhere and the nazis borrowed it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika

That dude who “attacked” him is called coppercab. It’s just a joke. They probably thought most people would know who he was and realise it wasn’t real. If they were trying to make people think it was real they’d have used someone less well known to antagonise them. Those are my thoughts anyway
