I'm living in Kriviy Rih for 15 years. All I can say is that this city depressing. Yep, it's big, but there's literally no places to go. It's full of industrial stuff, and as my folks say, it was the most popular place to find job back in Soviet Union. Now, it's not only foreigners, but also people from another cities of Ukraine rare here. Seeing this man's video, which I found by accident in my recommendation, makes me feel happy. No transitions, filters, drones, but still he founds beautiful in such a place. Watching this video makes me feel warm, recognizing my home, makes my eyes wet seeing people get to know about this city. Thank you so much for making such a video. Дякую! Спасибо!

I remember a while back on one of your trips to Ukraine you were in some town and stopped at a war memorial and explained the significance of them. You explained how entire family lines were eradicated from existence as you read blocks of names on the memorial all with the same surname. As someone who had almost no knowledge about Ukraine's history, this really impacted me. Fast forward to a couple months ago and I was listening to an episode of Jocko podcast where he covered a book about the Holodomor. I was truly speechless, the depth of suffering endured by the Ukrainian people is impossible to fathom. Not just in the period of the Holodomor but for nearly its entire existence and how they continue to suffer in some capacity even to this day its incredible to me how they still persist and continue to live on. I just wanted to share that I've gained an appreciation for the people of Ukraine and empathy for their plights where I had none before. Thanks Bald.

been a few times here in an "Otzcepnoj vogon" (a loose rail-carriage)... the train arrived in the morning and continued with a different train at 3 in the afternoon, so one had plenty of time to explore... it was never quite like in that book, at least not in the Late 80s... & the book seems nearly of thesame date... but yes, if anything, it probably looks more like it was meant to then... it was much more industrial, with a lot of very worn tired looking men huddled around Kiosks in the streets... The Park imn.Pravda had a number of small carousels and swings back then (I was 5ish maybe), it was also filled with frogs. also, vegetable snacks were sold at the station and on the corners from newspaper cones.
