I used to work in a frozen pizza factory up near Workington years ago, they used to make top name pizza brands and cheap super market ones, the only difference was the expensive ones had slightly more toppings than the cheaper ones otherwise all the ingredients were the same. I guess it's still the same nowadays.

I used to work at a pasta factory in Massachusetts as a boiler operator. You're exactly right on that . I had to walk through the production area to get to the second boiler and all the pasta was made in one big room but they had runs of different packaging for different brands. I would walk through shipping and receiving and there would be boxes for up to 5 different brands. Some fresh, some frozen but it was all the same pasta! Like you said, supermarkets do not make pizzas or pasta or anything, they're just resellers. Someone who makes pizzas is in contract with supermarkets to make their in house brand.

I hate Aldi and Lidl with a passion lol. They never have everything I need for a weekly shop, then the queuing and having to empty a trolley to then fill it back up again to pack off to the side. Forget that. Scan as you shop all the way. Plus other supermarkets sell their own version of this pizza. Asda do it for 90p. Id rather pay the extra and have the convenience of scan and go.

Me too, and also we buy Italian hard cheese from Morrison’s , finely grate it cos it’s really Parmesan , put 1 bag in the fridge and the other two in the freezer , scallions, we Peel the skin off a red pepper , a bit of mozzarella , and a bit of finely grated cheddar . We always have the little pepperoni sausages in , so we put on of those through the side grater for chorizo , or chicken and sweet corn alternatively. By that time I could have cooked a meal . Like sausage casserole or chicken Korma in the time it took to do the Pizza 🍕.

We usually keep some frozen sliced peppers in hand for various recipes, so easy to springle a few on an Aldi one. Can't go wrong with that Aldi price. A bit of hot pepper sauce too and very yummy.

I can remember being very disappointed with the Goodfellas pizza the last time I had one a few years ago. I couldn't understand how a pizza that was so well known could taste so bland, but now I know why. The Goodfellas is simply more expensive because they advertise more and that is reflected in the price, quality has nothing to do with it. Personally, I prefer the Carlos meat feast over these two, but I'm sure there's a fair few Aldi products that are as good as their better advertised counterparts. Great review btw.

Yeah the meat feast one is spot on as long as you are careful not to overcook it. A little sprinkle of dried herbs and spice is even better

Great review, Goodfellas does it for me, a great crunch, quality meat and a genuine tomato taste. I tried the Carlos before but I found there was a ‘ming’(not quite authentic, manufactured)taste but great value all the same.

I love pepperoni pizza! I have been known to order pizzas from Pizza Hut or Domino’s or Papa John’s, some of which don’t actually have pepperoni on them - so I improve it by asking them to add some pepperoni to it! Pizza? Without pepperoni? Unthinkable!

Hi Gareth me again .I buy these pizzas in aldi and the pack of two pepperoni subs for 75p. with the money I have saved I buy a packet of grated mozzerella from Aldi and top up the pizza and the subs. Hit it with black pepper and they are gorgeous. Great video as usual keep it up.

Asda has the best pizza counter. Thin and crispy base, tomato base, bacon, spicy beef, hot and spicy chicken and then sweet chilli cheese (u get four toppings but they count the scc as a topping as they add it aswell as normal cheese). Then chilli oil. Easily the best supermarket pizza going. It's good on the deal. Two pizzas, drink and a free movie download for a fiver.

79p wow nice 1 again mate. I recently tried making my own. dead simple flour and yogurt mixed wee bit salt and olive oil roll out 2 mins. brush with tin tomatoes or a BQ sauce and your own cheese and toppling try fresh basil. fresh pizza cannot beat. cheap but a little more messy kitchen. kids will love it.

Yeah Gaz... Even if you don't want to buy the Bell Peppers... Most people would have Fresh Tomatoes in their fridge at home... So if people really wanted to have a slightly healthier Pizza like the Goodfellas... They can easily slice up a Tomato to place on the Aldi Carlos Pepperoni Pizza... That would also bulk up the weight of the Carlos Pizza to match the Goodfellas Pizza... And a single Tomato would only cost you about fifteen pence extra... Once again Gaz... The two codes on the Goodfellas box is probably because they will be made in one of two facilities, they put both codes on the box so they don't have to change the packaging for each factory, and yes IE is Ireland.

I purchased two of the Carlos pizzas today, the meat feast one for tonight and the pepperoni one for tomorrow, the meat feast one very nice, definitely going to buy it again. I would say, it’s better to let it defrost first and then cook it for about 10 minutes and then check it, my one was perfect....thanks for pointing these out, I would not of thought to purchased these, cheers.

Nice video comparison and coming back to it in January 2023, the prices have both changed. The Goodfellas in Tesco now £2.50 and the Carlos in Aldi now £1.15. I don't like peppers, so it's an easy choice.

Tesco do a cheese one for 66p or pepperoni for 67p. I like letting them defrost in the fridge and cook them in the oven for a few minutes. Prevents the crust and base from being overly crunchy and they taste decent

Hi, good tip is to let the pizza, any frozen pizza defrost unwrapped and then you will find that you can arrange the toppings evenly. Plus they cook a little bit quicker..Dabs from Derby..x

If I am going to sit in with a pizza, I do go to Aldi. What I do is buy a multi cheese plain pizza and then I choose my toppings. They could be bell peppers or something a little more spicy. I also buy a pack of pepperoni to top my pizza off. I am going through a time warp at the moment, back to my Army days in Germany and ordering a pizza from a Schnell Imbiss. I always chose the Tuna pizza. But a good Gyros comes a close second.

What I do is. buy the aldi pizza and I have a bag of frozen peppers in freezer. the whole bag of chopped peppers is 69p at ALDI for 500g...I put a few on and it works well.. ALDI stuff is great value..

I don't think you can beat the Chicago Town tiger crust pizzas for shop-bought. I buy the cheese ones and add Swedish meatball halves and frozen chopped peppers (thawed out on paper towel)

I'm pretty sure they are out of the same factory. I don't think apart from Green Isle that there is another frozen pizza plant in Ireland and certainly not a scaled one.

You can't go wrong with the Carlos Pizza brand from aldi. Their pepperoni & Mighty meaty pizza are just beautiful Garreth ( ; I find the Carlos Pepperoni is just a litte bit tastier especially the smaller bits I usually take off all the smaller bits when the pizza is done & stick them under the grill for 2min & get them real crispy Mmmmmmm!!! Here in Ireland the Goodfellas Pepperoni pizza that you have is €2.99 in Tesco & the Carlos equivalent in Aldi is only €1.10.
