I think this is my favourite review so far, it had a real story arc with character development and everything. The fact that from the get go you were willing yourself to not like it, subconsciously thinking "you're a better man than a £1.5 microwaved kebab". Only for your esteemed view of yourself to be shattered as you realise any dirty donner will do ya.

I know exactly where you're coming from about Donner kebabs. When I was a younger guy, so we're talking about early 90s, coming back from the pub on a Friday night we would stop off at the Donner Kebab vans at Bridge Street car park in High Wycombe. (It's now a shopping centre) was about 4 of them lined up, but we had a favourite. Get a dirty old donner and eat it with the grease dripping down our hands. I've loved them ever since!

When I used to buy those snacksters kebabs from farm foods a good few yrs ago, there used to be 2 in a box ,and inside the pitta bread, the meat wasnt too bad, also inside there was some chopped cabbage& little bit of onion as well I think , ( not much mind lol ) , but the spicy sauce was really nice spread over the meat . me &my son loved them .

Mate you need to spread the meat over both sides before cooking on tissue pape. I get the smaller one that only has chilli sauce. I work nights in an Amazon yard and is fine for me. A little treat tbh at the start of my long shift. Can’t imagine having one at home as a meal though.

I used to buy these Snacksters from Iceland and I thought they were a a very tasty, cheap and dirty snack 🙂 The instruction then was best cooked from frozen but there was umpteen complaints in the reviews that said they cant be cooked from frozen. The instructions said to lay the flat bread and meat side by side. Then open the flat bread and arrange the meaty stuff evenly on top and microwave for a time and then fold over and turn over as the flat bread goes soggy. The only problem was that they couldn't be cooked like that until they have been left out until the the bread could be flattened and the meaty stuff could be separated and spread out. 30 minutes to defrost enough to cook and a proper tasty and cheap snack 🙂✌

@GerryLewis-qb4pv5 күн бұрын
On the few occasions that I have a Donor I usually just visit my local Kebab Shop, even though they're expensive. A hot Chilli sauce and plenty of salad with garlic mayo. And no need to faff about to cook it. Sometimes either Lidl or Aldi do frozen packs of Donor meat during their Mediterranian week. So I just buy a pack, some pitta breads, Donor seasoning and some salad to make my own. Obviously they aren't as good as a take-away but they are OK, and a lot cheaper. Another great review. Microwaving flatbreads or pitta breads? They always come out soggy.
