I'm aware of a bit of an audio inconsistency on the voice over which I apologize for, I was battling my microphone during most of the sessions which were spread out over a couple of days. Audacity & G Hub were not playing nicely together and giving me some inconsistent results on longer recordings so I had to split a lot of it up sentence by sentence. This should be fixed in the next guide.

Shovel is great, especially later on if your Rogue starts doing insane damage and is more likely to one shot enemies which can often lead to losing surprised (whops). Send in Shovel first and you are golden!

Shovel is a must have in my playthroughs... easily one of the favourite things about BG3 for me a Summoner enjoyer!

Shovel doesn't lie, balsam IS good for burns, for getting them. 😁

The third option for passing the mirror is to smash it. You don't even have to talk to it. You can literally just smash it and walk through. 😅

It has Medium toughness (and some specific resistances), so for lower level characters to smash it will be difficult depending on what classes are in their party (most will be around LVL 3 getting here so hitting 22+ would probably take more time than just going through normally and they likely won't have high attack spell scrolls yet to substitute). In those cases the checks will be easier, especially for new players. Players can also bypass it completely by stacking boxes and jumping over the top because there's no roof - but it's a bit cheeky. Barbs do get an option in dialogue to pick up a rock and smash it with a 15DC though which is pretty satisfying.

Do I need to be in the cellar when I summon and speak to Shovel? Or can I do this anytime? Currently in the Under Dark. Will this work there?

Should be fine. I did have a playthrough where it didn't trigger until then, but it was a few patches ago. If for some reason it doesn't, just go back to the cellar later near where you found the book talk to Shovel again and it should trigger. I like doing it all while I'm there just to avoid issues.

This game has so much in it that I find new things every playthrough! It's scale is no joke.
