i've seen some people say how larian added a bunch of cut content and expanded on things in definitive editions of previous games. it's definitely a reach, but _maybe_ things like this will be added if we get a definitive edition for bg3

I will say I like that the characters seemed to intersect with eachother a lot more in early access. It seems they really don’t do it nearly that much in the final version.

Yeah I'm hoping they fix this in later patches. Shadowheart seems to mess with a lot of Astarion's dialogue and scenes. I'm honestly tempted to just.. not pick her up next playthough.

literally on my third playthrough and I never saw this lmao... there's so much stuff in this game it's crazy edit: ohhhhh, now I know why you got that scene! it happens if you got the second tadpole dream, then stopped using the tadpole powers yourself. astarion will trigger a third tadpole dream since he is still using tadpole powers.

@@meishuu Use the mindflayer powers in dialogue. As the NPCs say, this is bad in theory and the dreams get worse, so I would be cautious when the game comes out for your full playthrough.

@@k0xytocin I got this scene during two playthroughs. During the first one I didn't recruit Shadowheart before I got the scene, but later I got several bugs with her. During the second playthrough I killed her before the dream, everything worked fine...

I didn't play early access, but I'm happy with how the character designs changed and got more polished. I hope that instead of the dlc we'll never get that some of the recorded cut content might be added back in future patches though. Some of this conversation is added in a bit better though in the final version, but it depends upon your playthrough choices.

Astarion theorizes that the tadpole prevents him from dying in the sun. You also get saved from it when your head is about to be smashed when falling off the ship (you levitate upside down for a bit before falling, preventing fall damage). Basically, something wants all of you to be kept alive.

You can't anymore. It's early access exclusive scene. It was tied to the previous dream visitor called Daisy. Daisy was extremely seductive in those dreams, so much so that a lot of players didn't like using the tadpole powers cause Daisy was extremely suspiciously evil and they replaced Daisy with Emperor and threw all of that content related to Daisy and consequences using tadpoles away (initially there were consequences for using tadpoles, severe ones, probably would've affected the ending too but last minute Larian rewrote all of that).

@@khatack there's some old footage where he wakes up in the sun and is really scared for a moment. Water still hurts him though, which can be problematic in this opening part of the game as part of the map is in a swamp...

He endured centuries of trauma and abuse, thus he is overcompensating and overreacting with defense mechanisms all the time. Psychologically he is a book example of a trauma victim which shows how well he is written. he's fascinating.
