I like that you get the option for this, but I’m genuinely surprised that people pick this one at all. I saw a dude say that they sacrificed Astarion because they were playing a Lawful Good character... like dude, maybe a good character would give him up to that vampire hunter. But sacrificing someone who trusts you on the murderous whims of a false god is impossible to construe as moral or even lawful.

Sacrificing Astarion to a false god doesn't sound Lawful at all lol. (Maybe Chaotic Good in a sense?) Lawful Good and even Lawful Evil have a set of morals and a code of conduct they hold up to no matter what. That being said, I played with a friend who killed Astarion when they met him though, cause Astarion had a knife and threatened to kill him lol. Plus, they hated vampires and viewed them disgusting. I think they were Lawful Good lmao.

@@jenmygem I could see it being Chaotic Neutral or True Neutral at best, depending on the motivations behind it. If it was outright maliciousness, then probably it is outright evil, because regardless of who it was, it is a horrible reason to betray your comrade. Especially after all you've been through by that point, you're breaking someone's trust for no good reason, other than your own cowardice, apathy, or just outright malice. Killing Astarion when you meet him makes perfect sense, regardless of alignment. He pulled a knife on you, dude had it coming. But sacrificing him because a Redcap who is pretending to be a god demands you to? There's no way a good person of any kind would allow that.

@@TheFlyingPilgrim The way I play True Neutral is that I'm only loyal to my party. I only help people if they ask first and move along. Although for the first meeting of Astarion, I would've killed him if not for the tadpole but then again it was a misunderstanding of the situation, so probably not really haha. Im thinking of either sacrificing Wyll or just killing the redcap and keeping the fish to myself as a Chaotic Evil. One just because I can, and one for power. CE doesn't justification lmao.

@@jenmygem I’m surprised Wyll would stick around in a Chaotic Evil run, at all. Considering that he leaves when you side with Minthara, but that’s assuming you don’t help the Tieflings.

Astarion is the only one (maybe Wyll too) who has a normal reaction to being offered as scarifies, everyone else is kinda 'i'm disappointed, but guess I'll die'

@@loreofmetalenthusiast Tempting! But I still had not sacrificed her. I do not like Sera so much either, but I think she became a little, but only very little, better after Haven is destroyed.

Yooo I did not like Sera's personality either but I did like her song, her pranks and her banter with the others lol. I also took her to the Fade with Iron Bull and Cole, that absolutely cracked me up. She's such a child and you can see in her journal lol. Anyway, I wouldn't sacrifice her either, she seems like a loyal person, she wouldn't betray you. Now Solas on the other hand- :((

@@jenmygem Sera was funny at times sure, and a strong party member (tempest is nuts). I could even deal with the racism (can racism against your own race be racism? 🤔) and the attitude (mostly). What kind of put me over the edge was her personal quest, I don't remember the details but she got a bunch of people killed with her childish incompetence, luckily I had some perks on my char to get a somewhat positive result. Then she had the gall to give me shit back at skyhold. If you confront her about it I remember the pc makes some points she can't really argue against so she's just like "well..... errr... you suck!". Mind you I ended up reloading and was nice to her... but it was tempting to kick her out lol. As for Solas... he does screw you over yeah. I had high approval with him though, if you do he does seem kinda sad how things turned out (though not enough to stop being an arse 😋). But I'm sure I'm repeating stuff you know now and I'm creating a textwall 😶. If I ever replay it I'll be sure to bring Sera into the fade, and I dont need convincing to bring my boy bull 😁. Think I brought blackwall varric and Solas last time.

@@loreofmetalenthusiast Oh yea she can mad and kill one guy during that quest, but if you have that diplomancy perk u can recruit the guy and save him I guess lol. Or if you're a rogue u can let her have at it haha.
