Since I don't usually put gameplay explanations in my builds because I don't usually find them necessary, I'll leave a comment about something important for maximizing your damage output with this build. Make sure you either have an ally or quickened cast create water to make enemies vulnerable to lightning damage before your casts to be able to deal massive amounts of damage. Edit: A comment taught me some new information that Clerics unlike most other classes actually do give their Heavy Armor Proficiency when multiclassed into, and as such I actually think the best way to do this setup is 1 Sorcerer -> 2 Cleric -> 5 Sorcerer -> Respec at level 9 -> 2 Cleric -> 1 Wizard -> 6 Sorcerer -> 1 Wizard -> 2 Sorcerer. This gets us Constitution saving throw proficiency in the early game and charisma item spell save DC in the late game where those 2 passive features will be at their most useful. Also for items I forgot since a comment reminded me: Act 1: - Staff of Arcane Blessing - Found in the hidden basement of the Mage Tower in the underdark. (Equip the guiding light ring to find it)

Also worth noting Water elemental creates a puddle on normal attacks and aoe attack when ice melts, I have it from Wyll from warlock passive, I assume the sorc can get it if they sculpt a scroll if specing into wizard. Tanky summon too with over 100hp, so if you have two casters with it, free water/wet status, damage, cc and somewhat tank. Upcasted to Water Myrmidon is even better, it's heal makes massive aoe water surfaces for 3 turns, and you can spam it so water will always be available. Good damage and cc still, plus Fly and misty step. Misty step to a whatever you want to make wet, use heal and voilà. Edit: Believe you can get an elemental scroll from Sorcerous Sundries in Act 3 on a merchant, can refresh a merchants inventory on a rest if it's not there. That's if you didn't find one in act 1 or 2.

Thank you for pointing out the game uses your most recently taken class for working out spell casting with items, I couldn't work out why the Elemental Necklace was only adding a +1 to my cantrips damage instead of the +5 for my Charisma (it was using my Wisdom from the Cleric Levels). Might I suggest Heightened Casting as a Metamagic option, probably not as good as Quickened Spell but forcing everything to roll against Chained Lightning with Disadvantage can be a big help in maximising damage.

Something i dont see ANYONE talking about its that create water can be used as a cantrip if you upcast it to second level. Great build! Id strongly recommend switching the order of the first two levels though! You still get the weapon and armor proficiency from cleric by level 2, but starting as sorcerer gives you proficiency in con saves aka concentration. Also in practice, ive notice the order of levels doesnt seem to impact the stats used for items
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
Heavy Armor proficiency doesn't get given when you multiclass, you have to start as a class with Heavy Armor Prof to get that one. Also, if you want to see the item casts being effected by levels take 1 pt sorcerer then cast a scroll on someone and check the Spell Save DC in the combat log it will use your charisma, then multiclass cleric and cast another scroll and check the Spell Save DC, it will use your wisdom. Then, class sorcerer again, now test a scroll and youll notice the spell save DC is using your wisdom DC still.
@RobThePrincess11 ай бұрын
@@Stealth_07 the multiclass rule with armor is generally the case. Cleric is the exception because the gain Heavy Armor and Martial Weapon proficiency as a Subclass feature, rather than the normal starting proficiencies. So you still pick em up after level 1.
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
@@RobThePrincess You are right, I stand corrected. I thought Ranger Knight was the only exception to the rule. I think the sorc start could be viable early then, I'd still swap out of it to sorcerer last for the item spell save DC later down the line though since certain important spells like Chain Lightning are only either cast-able through the wizard spell slots or items and I find its very important to utilize our highest spell casting stat for those spells.
@Duncan55Watson10 ай бұрын
@@Stealth_07 The issue with Sorcerer start is then your casting stat for scrolls and magic items will either be Wisdom or Int depending on whether cleric or Wizard was taken last. Now my particular version of this build actually has 20 int and 20 cha (mirror +1 cha, +2 int, ethel +1 cha, ASIs +2 cha, +2 int, base 16 in cha and int from character select, also respec). This allows me to do equally well with int and cha so either can be last. I start with Sorcerer in this case and take Wizard as my third multi class.

Doesn’t work with markoheshkir/scrolls/ any other items you would use. It takes whatever class you multiclassed into last for your spellcasting modifier, so if you did sorcerer first you couldn’t use your CHA modifier for markoheshkir lightning bolts😊

If you use a hierling transmutation wizard in your camp and get them to level 6, they can make a transmuter's stone for your character to hold that can give you a variety of buffs. One of them gives you proficiency in constitution saving throws. So technically you can have your cake and eat it too by starting with cleric as early as level 6 and then just holding that stone. Downside is you have to recreate the stone and give it to your character every long rest which might get tedious.

I would absolutely recommend Dual Wielder for a Sorceror. Get yourself both the Marheshkonirefirafer-whatever and the Staff of Spellpower, and between those you can cast 3 6th level spells, which with this build, would devastate every encounter by sending out 3 Chain Lightnings especially if twin spelled, AND get the Amulet of the Devout which gives you a third channel divinity, and hoo-boy thats a lotta damage!
@insomniac009510 ай бұрын
Where are you getting all those chain lightnings though? Markhoheshkier only gives you one. You can use scrolls but they cost 900 gold each. Learning it as a wizard would have you casting off intelligence.

@insomniac0095 Both the Marko staff and Spellpower give Arcane Battery, and they do stack so you get two casts of a spell without expending the slot. Have Haste on you prior to combat, or a potion of speed, or the Elixir of bloodlust to get a second action. 1) First action, Markos arcane battery, chain lightning, still have spell slot. 2) Second action, repeat with the spellpower staffs arcane battery, still have spell slot. 3) Quickened spell, bonus action, chain lightning, finally expends spell slot.
@insomniac009510 ай бұрын

@insomniac0095 Arcane Battery is only once per long rest yes, but only per item. If you use Markos battery, you can't use that one again, but can still use staff of spellpowers one. Once you use both, then yes you need to take a long rest.

I would say, of my builds, either my assassin, paladin, or monk would probably be the easiest for someone new since they all have pretty straightforward gameplay approaches (Assassin shoots enemies, paladin smites enemies, monk punches enemies) (also obviously theres a little more nuance to those builds than that but at their core thats what they do) Whereas my other builds like this one or my arcane trickster tend to require a better understanding of certain game mechanics to pull off at their most effective. (Not to say they would be bad or anything, but in order to maximize those builds you'd need to be more proficient)

Alternatively, you can go Storm Sorcerer-2/Wizard-2/Tempest Cleric-8. This gives you access to higher level Cleric spells, as well as more Channel Divinity charges, plus you get 2x metamagics and the ability to turn as many spell slots into Sorc Points as you want. Since all of your classes are full casters, you will get the full complement of spell slots including lvl 6 slots, and with Scribe Spell you have access to all Wizard spells (as long as you can find a scroll). I think this gives the greatest access to spells known, along with the two essential features from Tempest Clerics and Storm Sorcerers.
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
This level split is viable too, Id say the biggest loss for this split is the loss of access to the quickened spell metamagic which while not as big a deal in party play since an ally can cast create water for you, in solo play like I tend to play, having the ability to quick cast create water before casting your lightning spells can do wonders for amping your damage.

Usually I don't add much gameplay since I like to keep my videos relatively succinct and most of my builds have pretty straightforward gameplay approaches, but for this one I definitely should've done a gameplay explanation since the video was short enough that I had time to and because this class's combat loop is a little more complex than most of my other builds'.

how do you get lightning around your staff and shield? Great builds by the way. love the dedication!
@Stealth_079 ай бұрын
When you use the Unique ability of the legendary staff you get that effect around your weapons.
@ageofblight7548 ай бұрын
Technically you could say gith for the spells, halfling for luck, and high elf for a free cantrip

so in the end what class should one start with when respeccing? wanna give this a shot now that im at later level. also, how does this build learn chain lightning, using scrolls? sry if thats a noob question lol
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
The respec level path is 2 Cleric -> 1 Wizard -> 6 Sorcerer -> 1 Wizard -> 2 Sorcerer. For learning chain lightning, once you are level 11 and have level 6 spell slots, a character with at least 1 level in wizard can right click (or its console equivalent) a chain lightning scroll and you should see an option to learn the spell for a sum of gold. This will permanently learn chain lightning on that character allowing them to put chain lightning in their wizard spell slots.

Great build, I was getting kinda stale with single class sorcerer and this seems great. Just wondering, how do you maximize intelligence for more spell preparations with wizard? Because just 5 preparations don't seem like enough to fully utilize it's huge spell potential. Maybe doing the build to end up with 18 cha and 18 int, and increase the DCs via items?
@Stealth_0710 ай бұрын
Maybe, 8 Str 10 Dex 14 Con 16 Int 8 Wis 17 Cha, +1 charisma from hag hair, +2 int from ASI feat, use other feat to take Alert if you want more initiative, then you can use the mirror of loss to +2 Int and Wear Birthright to get +2 charisma for 20 Int and 20 Charisma (Although realistically, the hood of the weave's +2 spell save dc is better than the +2 charisma)

Does anyone know if I respec my Gale (as he learnt all the scrolls) to follow your guide of cleric2/wizard2/sorcerer8 Would he keep the scrolls he learned? Edit: Yes, yes he does

i still don’t understand why we don’t still start w Sorcerer for the constitution proficiency and do 2 cleric, 1 wiz, and the rest on sorcerer. What’s the benefit of respec-ing with cleric on first 2 levels?
@iyalladinney5598Ай бұрын
Because the most recent level 1 class you pick will be the modifier you use for your spells

hey i follow your guide and your pinned comment, so im now level 11, sorcerer is my new class (according to the pinned comment, two lever wizard before it) , and then i tried to learn spell artistry of war and chain lightning, I don't find any charisma proficiency dice on the log.. did i do something wrong?

So, when we respec, the first four levels should be cleric and wizard?
@kynesovos858011 ай бұрын
Does this build use any permanent buffs you can find throughout the acts?
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
I don't account for them in my videos since I don't cover how to get them in video and I make the assumption that players who want to minmax their stats will know about the upgrades and make adjustments on their own. This build can use the Hags Hair Charisma +1, and both the Patriars Memory and +2 Upgrades from the Mirror of loss to get a +4 to Charisma, then with 1 ASI we can up the charisma to 22.
@kynesovos858011 ай бұрын
Big thx, I want to try this out but I've played this game over many times that I'd sooner feel like respeccing a pre existing character, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't contingent on the optional perma buffs @@Stealth_07

Does the stat boost for items also include spells learned through scrolls?
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
No, those will always use your intelligence since they get slotted into your wizard spell slots.
@HarmonyOfElements11 ай бұрын
Would it not be better to start sorcerer for the Con saving throws proficiency? You'll get heavy armor anyway from cleric subclass! Awesome build, you made a lot of good ones!

Level 1-6 is just a borefest till u are well into Act2. Seen this build so many times with minor variations. Just play whatever u want till lvl 8 and than respec to this split. Untill u get call lightning its just a generic caster anyway.
@Stealth_0711 ай бұрын
I mean to each their own but this is just the nature of how all primary wizard and sorcerer builds play. Also, say what you want but people have fun playing builds that just deal a lot of damage and this build can do that (even at levels 1-6 as long as you know what youre doing). I mean look at how popular throwing builds are despite the fact that they literally just throw their weapon 2-6 times a turn and that's all they do every turn for the whole game.

4:21, Do you mean that I need to respec when reaching level 9? I'm level 8 at the moment and soon level 9. Do I respec even though I picked Cleric at first level and Sorcerer from level 2? So I just do the same over again at level 9 and just pick Wizard in level 9?
@geraldineconstanzasotoastu375417 күн бұрын
I think you have to respec like this: Cleric ---- Wizard----Sorcerer 🤔🤔
@kylehalpern669510 ай бұрын
Wouldnt this build mean you are not getting chain lightning to cast off charisma? Only 6 levels in sorcerer or are you just pumping int with your asi?

So i can Spellscribe und learn stUff as a Wizard, but i only have 2 Spellslots to use to prepare these spells, right ? sounds questionable or do i miss something ? 2 Levels of Wizard gives u access to 2-3 Spellslots for Scripe-learning from Scrolls and either Portent Dice or Pocket-Casting Magic. (2Cleric/2Wiz/8Sorc) 2 Levels more into Sorc gives u another Metamagic and 2 Spells from Sorcerer (2Cleric/10Sorc) 2 Levels more into Cleric gives u a feat (4Cleric/8Sorc) 2 Levels Warlock als sounds fun :D u get Eldritch Blast und 2 Invocations Maybe Armor of Agathys :D (2 Levels Fighter gives u Action Surge :P :D) did i miss something ?
