Hi all! Today we have the next build in my deity build series! Today we're tackling one of the most popular deities in DND lore, Bahamut the Dragon God of Justice! This was a super fun build to make as the idea for the character themselves turned out to be just as interesting as the build was to play!

Lore tidbit for you. Bahamut's favorite avatar is an old human wizard named fizban, who walks around faerun with 9 yellow canaries following him. Each one of those is actually an ancient gold dragon that is his council and his champions, meaning gold does fit perfect for this build! Also, he doesn't actually use an ice breath. His breath is either pure radiant damage or pure healing, making him the only non gem dragon to use a nine elemental breath.

Idk how you feel about using mods, but there’s a fizbans Dragonborn mod that lets you use a crystal Dragonborn that uses the sunbeam vfx and deals radiant damage. You can still make your pc look like a gold Dragonborn (or platinum) 🤷🏽 either way, this build is pretty cool!

@HulklingsBoyfriend he has only ever used radiant. Nothing has shown him using anything else. At least in base form, he can true polymorph at will into the other dragons, though. He is immune to all elemental damage

4:36 that's fitting. Metallic dragons may be good-aligned, but they're still dragons; they're proud, greedy, and don't empathize much with people. This judge wouldn't question his right to pass judgement over others because he's above them, no less than a dragon on the wing would be literally and indisputably above them. He may judge righteously, but good luck convincing him he hasn't.

Fun way to roleplay. Spirit Guardians are reflavored to be Spiritual Dragons. Can't do it in game, but I love that idea.

I've been thinking of a pally/cleric multi class and this was just what I needed to get the creative juices flowing. I tweaked it a bit for my personal taste and went vengeance and 2h weapon. Such a fun multi class with the smites and the spirit guardians

Your deity builds has inspired me to do one myself. Using the shape-shifter related gear. The Agent of The Traveler. A deity build inspired by a god from the Eberron panthion. Worshipped by changelings; they are part of the dark six of Eberron. Mechanically. I was thinking maybe trick cleric with rogue.

Since the launch of BG3, I've played with a character for a while and then I restart to try another build and I've done this dozens of times... But I'm happy to say that those dark times of reroll are over thanks to this build you've made ! I simply love this character and it's roleplay so I guess I'll be able to finish BG3 thanks to you ! Or maybe not... I've been checking stuff on KZbin lately and I've found a video which talks about Arkhan the Cruel. I don't know if you've heard about this character but I think it could be a cool build and the complete opposite of the judge you've made. If you have a little time, I'd like to introduce you to a character who has joined the DND lore, even though he was originally played IRL in a JDR game. A red dragonborn who worships Tiamat and will do anything to bring her out of hell. A character who made such an impact on a JDR campaign that DND's creators decided to integrate him into the game as the antagonist of the last release. One thing that’s good about this is Paladin only really needs charisma for aura scaling, as smites use your strength for hit chance. Really want to try this out

Another Great video! I'd love to see you do a tiefling "Succubus" build based on enchantment and persuasion. Im thinking fiend warlock 3-5 levels and the rest Bard. Just as long as its not another sorlock lol!

If you want to get more force conduit you can go diadem of arcane synergy and the skinburster halberd. Skinburster gives force conduit on hit, which applies a condition.

Damn that thumbnail is amazing and damn this Dragonborn rocks! You actually managed to make a hideous looking Dragonborn face look good! In my opinion, male Dragonborn faces look terrible besides the first one. Had to use the same face on my second Tav (Red Dragonborn Starblaze), but thankfully horns, scales and eyes change Dragonborn's looks so much, it's basically another person! And yes, my first Tav (White Dragonborn) prayed to Bahamut a couple of times in Act 3. One time before the Netherbrain and they even made the Bahamut's crest manifest in the air!

I would love to see a guardian of nature. Using Druid/Paladin as either a Wood Elf or Wood Half Elf, avenging the balance that has being shattered by the Mindflayers

Considering the fact that Bahamut's closest servants are the seven Great Gold Wyrms, I honestly think the choice of a Gold Dragonborn fits incredibly well

*pats self on back* i am feeling even better choosing war domain for my cleric of bahamut. i was struggling between war and life [since both his domains in 5e? at least according to the forgotten realms wiki]; but war was edgier narratively for my tav hehe. i wish i had considered paladin, idky i didnt. i went with ranger [again for narrative reasons and because i don't have one yet /sobs]. but i am really enjoying the story behind your build, i might try it once time --- once i finish my other 50 playthroughs :-D

I think with a CHA of 12, the level 6 in Paladin isn't worth, it's just a +1 for saving throws then. Maybe another level into cleric would be better, due to your high WIS stat.

With the equipment I recommended, you'd have a CHA of 16. Still not the best, but it helps.

Bahamut's Domains are Life, War, and Order so War domain is perfect. Also Bahamut has a human disguise and he's a monk.

Shield Bash has been bugged since patch 3 iirc. It used to work at one point of time. There are mods which fixes this.

Wouldn't the amulet of greater health be a good fit for the character that way your constitution is at (23, I think), and you could reallocate stats to have the main stats high enough for both classes

Yeah but that's a late game item so I don't want people thinking they have to gun it for a late game item just to make the build good. This build works well without it, but would be much better with it.

@@AKJ1306 I could recommend any of my builds. I think the Eilistraee one is better for a first playthrough or if your newer to the game as it is easier to make on an average playthough.

Yeah it does have more of the "lawful good" style that's fitting for a "true hero" playthrough. Isn't my first, but I'll keep you updated how it compares to my other "non-hobo" playthroughs

@@AKJ1306 Unless you're dead set on playing Paladin, it always easier to do a playthrough with no Oath hanging over your head. So I second what Hobo wrote, but I want to point out that: what you might deem as "good" like ressurecting Mayrina's husband is "evil" according to at least Oath of Ancients, because you're using necromancy. Just remember: you can also easily play as good Oathbreaker, good Rogue, good Barbarian, so don't stress too much and pick a class you really want play as and respec it you get too bored of your choice.

any thoughts on a pure divination wizard build? i am thinking of a character that can forsee the future by reading minds/insight/perception and just being a good over all control mage in combat

I mean yeah it would work nicely. I've used Divination in a few builds based around manipulating rolls as a form of control. I've never gone all 12 levels in it, but it will work nicely as a full wizard is always strong.

Unfortunately, best features divination wizard get on second level. After that all you can get is mostly not that good. Because of that divination school is a good dip and not that good main class. But if you add some cleric or/and sorcerer levels, you can build really strong control mage.

yeah i did a full playthrought with the githyanki one you did and really liked the mind control aspect of it, since at the time i didnt realize how good crown of madness can bee to turn a room full of an enemies allies against them lol but now i am thinking of doing a playthrough of like a divine seer that has gathered some of the realms strongest (those being my previous tavs) to fend off the bbeg @@HoboZone

Hey Hobo! Hope u see this coment I found a way to cast spells as a wild magic barbarian (not with reactions) For some reason, when I was playing my combination of 5 elements monk + wild magic barbarian (wich I call it "The cool abilities build) I got some cantrips out of my race choice and Magic Initiate feat. When I trigger a Wild Magic surge that its effects only hapens once (only when I enter rage and its not an ability to use with bonus action) I was able to cast spells normally like nobody busisnes I dont know if it is a bug or a feature, but I really what you to know this if u can theorycraft something with it. (Other thing to mention, u can vast 5 elements monk abilities while raging)

Feel free also to perfect "The cool abilities" build, really its so far the most fun build i have been playing and it is suprisingly good as a front liner U got some good control from monk spells, nice AC, Rage with random cool ability and some significant damage U woukd have to dump some stats but who cares u got cool stuff

That has some interesting synergy, you're gonna have to deal with having your stats split between WIS and CHA though.

For spells, probably control spells like spike growth and plant growth would be fun to play around with. Grab Misty Step as a Warlock so you can get around your own hazards.

@jmoney3932 Depends on if you're going Pact of the Blade or not. If you are, Warlock 5 first then the rest Druid. No feats nessicary, just ability score improvements to your main stats

Already done! It's one of my older builds, The Greatest Detective. I only show up to level 4, but after what is shown you could take 8 levels of Swords Bard and have a very strong build. (read the description for more info)
