What the game really needs by default is legandary actions for these boss monsters. Everyone knows thats how you balance dnd encounters and its crazy to me that the bosses in this game don’t have any.

I wouldn't say this boss was easy on my playthrough, I was on the ropes when I won(Dame Aylin for the win finished him off with a critical hit by thunder!). Still felt like a goddamn Dark Souls boss when he showed up, literally said aloud "Oh shit."

Damn, seeing all these comments saying it was easy, I must be doing something wrong. Took me at least 5 tries on balanced mode. Haven’t started act 3 yet, but for sure the hardest boss or maybe second hardest behind Balthazar.

I must be doing something wrong. I was very underpowered apparently. I'm doing things before the big Moonrise Towers fight so I can get stronger. After all the work I put in to kill Z'rell and her allies.

I think you were not using the correct strats because by this point most parties have some really good abilities and scrolls to use against him. He wasn't super easy but he wasn't difficult. He maybe got 2 turns before I took him but it depends on how much you rest and what abilities you had left after the ketheric fight. I didn't think he was too easy but I hope in future games there are safe guards put in place for killing him too quickly just like if you had a real DM. A real DM would want you to struggle and feel like this is the hardest battle you've ever fought and he would hinder or help you to make that happen. I hope in future games like this they work something out like that one day. Then imagine the stories we'll tell each other.

One tapping Myrkul feels more like an obligation than an achievement for me.

This fight had a lot of potential to be like an awesome dark souls boss fight but in dnd format. It ultimately fell because of what happens in dnd- action economy. Bosses in this game do not have lair or legendary actions and I I think that is a detriment as otherwise they’re just a health sponge. I killed this guy in 1 turn before he even swung, reloaded the fight to focus on adds first to see his actual move set and it still felt too quick. Edit: With Patch 5 it seems they’ve added Legendary Actions. Hopefully with this we get much closer to being like tabletop.

@@TheBigEmstos Tactician. I also fought him the traditional way, so no minions were left. 4 PCs and Dame Aylin + any summons vs just Apostle of Mykul, it was over for him before the fight started. When I reloaded I focused ketheric first so that myrkul would have goons on the second go around, as I said it was easy af. Having dnd knowledge prior made this game kind of a cake walk.

Honestly, you just out DPS'd him. If he ends up saccing the adds, he does a kiss of death move. It's a tough fight, but essentially the strat is to just down him fast.

Yeah, I hope that if Larian would make a Definitive Edition for BG3, they would add Legendary Actions for monster, ro many of them felt like HP sponges (certain leader of Murder Tribunal especially)

I understand the criticism, hell i honestly had a harder time with Ketheric Thorm over Myrkul. I'm more to your face type of person, y'know down and gritty but Thorm fracking shield bash was annoying. Had to pull my Paladin and have my wizard nuke the fuck out of him. My boy gale was like sit down Pally i got this shit and was wrecking him and shit. Myrkul, i had a plan but my Paladin main was low on health, Myrkul one shot and i was like "fuck" then came that Dame Jaylin winged bitch and was like "Npc about to save your ass" and pushed my main to my cleric...thats right shadowheart. Winged show off starts attacking Myrkul but misses all her shit. Healed up my pally had gale use haste on pally, then pally had a field day with Myrkul. The amount of crits i was like "the fuck" but i know deep down the game intentionally had Winged thing miss so that pally could feel like a hero. Lmfao.😂

Having beat the game on Tactician with only myself and 1 other party member (myself and a friend playing coop with no companions) it's really not all that difficult. It's a complex game but once you get a handle on the mechanics, it's fairly easy.

I one-turned him on tactician without highrolling - I feel like as soon as you get a hang of the game mechanics, the game is pretty easy apart from the very start (man that gnoll fight and the gith patrol still give me nightmares...).

Love it, but was sad the battle was very easy. I feel like most fights so far have been very easy. I think so far the only challenge i had was the devil in shars temple. I just started act 3 so hoping some challenging fights happen.

I didn't have much trouble with the devil in the Sharran temple because I hasted and just kept picking up his bombs XD
