For sure! I wonder how much, if any, of it was done and then got scrapped for one reason or another. I only wish I could have had more freedom with the camera.

@@CasualVeteranGamer hey, the fact you invested your time at all is very impressive. I had never seen that kind of thing before. (Course, I'm old)

With the houses floating, I thought baldurs gate had become part of the netherese empire.

Hah, just in time to repeat Karsus' folly, or more probably Gale's folly in this game.

Wow. I knew there were walls, but I never comprehended how much a walled city Baldur's Gate was . . . impressive and breath taking!
@CasualVeteranGamer5 күн бұрын
Yep! Completely walled off except for the riverside, plus the wall between the upper and lower cities.

City is indeed breathtaking from this perspective. Good luck catching this big and recording it. Very interesting.

I would really love to see an overview of Avernus.

Wonderful. But now I want a full map of Baldur's gate and environs, just so that I can orientate myself. But that was likely the reason that Larian had to create all of these buildings, so that when in game the background looks correct even though many of the buildings can never be reached and probably have nothing more than the exterior walls. Amazing work. And I think we should all have such respect for all the detail that Larian and other Devs put into such games just so that we the gamesr can feel as if the place is real.

Larian did some renders for the art in the Descent into Avernus campaign book that's more or less a prelude to the events in BG3. That book also has the Baldur's Gate Gazetteer.

@@DavidCookeZ80 I shall have to look out for that. Thanks. Edit... Checked, but no good map, just a small sketch.

One thing I miss about buying physical copies of games in past is all the small goodies we don't get anymore. I remember with my box set for Baldur's Gate 1 I got a map, which on one side had the sword coast, and on the other side there was a map of the city itself. I wish I had kept it!

@@Jules_Diplopia It's 5025px x 3328px in the digital version, covering Blackgate to Rivington - hardy small.

@@DavidCookeZ80 Yes, but simply increasing the number of pixels does not improve the details. And to have true detail would require far more in the basic image.

Wow, Ramazith's tower is absolutely humongous, dwarfing everything in Upper City! While in dnd canon it was that odd building constructed by eccentric mariner-turned-wizard Ramazith, six stories tall, yes, but like comparable to other structures in temple district. I wonder, do they plan to make it something like Candlekeep (center of knowledge) under Rolan's leadership in BG4.
@CasualVeteranGamer6 күн бұрын
My guess is it's so tall just so it does actually stand out in the title screen? Saying that though, when we're at the top of it in Act 3 it looks far higher than the six stories it's supposed to be.

BG4? That's SOME wishful thinking No way Hasbro can pull out a game studio, that will be able to reach quality people expect coming from BG3 Best they can do, is to dabble with other Forgotten Realms adjacent media to find solid footing
