You picked a great time to start the game. They just dropped patch 5 that added in a whole epilogue chapter, fixed lots of bugs, added tons of small quality of life updates, and also let's you get the 7th companion without having to be full on evil.

Nice stream bro. Many of us forget how hard it was for us when we played for the first time. The game has a steep learning curve with all the different mechanics and key words. I struggled for 20 hours in Early Acces before learning what Saving throws are and how Proficiency and background skill checks work. Funny story, I once put a medium armor helmet on Gale and didn't understand why he can't cast any spells. It was because as a human wizard, he is not proficient in medium armor, he can only wear clothing (robes) and light armor. You learn those as you go and at some point along the road, everything clicks and you might even find it too easy. I will not list here a series of tips&tricks, your chat takes care of that as I see, but if you feel overwhelmed, there are tons of 30-40 minutes videos on youtube that explain the very basic mechanics with minimum spoilers so maybe you could consider watching one off stream. Hope you continue this playthrough, I'll be hopping onto your livestream for sure. P.S. BG 3 is arguably the easiest and most forgiving CRPG so it's a perfect entry point if you wanna play other games in the genre. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the polar opposite, that game is 5x more complex than this.

Hey Lupa halfway through the video. As someone who bought the game in early access years ago got 900 hours plus in the game. I recommend (No spoilers) but there's mountains or underdark, you actually can do both due to fast travel. If you played the easiest settings I'd of not mentioned it, but it's good for storylines of characters and also exp. You are also playing with a Overpowered class if used right in mid-late game 😄 (Please make a playlist for this game too)

Remember, you can throw nearly anything you can lift. Throwing potions, weapons and objects with elemental properties can be especially useful.

I also did a monk, but I also double classed as a Druid so when I ran out of Ki using my monk skills I could turn into a bear and fight. Or shapeshift as a cat to sneak past enemies, become a Badger mole to burrow to the other side of locked walls, etc

I feel like i need to follow up about the Long Rest: there are 2-3 instances in the game where the quests are time sensitive but are pretty obvious: like people trapped in a burning building. But outside of that, it's quite the opposite: most of the camp events and parts of the story, specially companions, advance during Long Rest. So you should not be afraid to long rest often/when ever you need. As long as you loot supplies around you should always have more than you need. With that out of the way, i'm glad i found this upload. I caught your last hour of the stream and was really fun to watch. Definitely going to follow this playthrough. Have fun!

Learns Burning Hands, realizes he can put grease on the floor, doesn’t use any of it 😂 You didn’t loot Withers’ coffin btw, might wanna go back and check that. Chat’s been telling you this but if you have Astarion hide then use the melee or ranged sneak attack it deals more damage. The underground crypt with the bandits is The Hole. You were doing alright, if you keep playing I think you’ll get it, just keep reading. Remember the hide, jump, dash and throw options too, they’ll be your friends, you can get creative and make combo strategies it helps a lot if you make note of what’s in your party’s inventories and your party members’ abilities ex. grease + firebolt. Your monk’s “flurry of blows” does two sets of damage since you’re hitting twice, you can hit on both swings or hit on one swing then miss the other or even miss both swings. The way you examined the sturdy door to see it’s weaknesses and resistances, you can do the same on literally every object, creature and person. The food you pick up is needed as camp supplies for long rests, the journal in the menu has all the pop-up tutorials you’ve learned, your journal also holds all of the quests that you’ve discovered, be sure to keep those R3 Tooltips On, I think they’ll continue to come in handy. You can use your abilities outside of combat too, it’s useful for prepping before battles or sneaking around in restricted areas ex. having Astarion hide before initiating a battle. Many things can give you advantage when attacking ex. having high ground, hiding/being hidden from enemies’ line of view, etc. During combat, keep your eye on the tab at the bottom of your screen, it keeps track of the amount of actions, bonus actions, movement, spell & divinity slots that you have left. Shadowheart sure is a nosey hypocrite ain’t she? lol This was a lot of fun, got the notis on for the next stream. You’re doing great, just remember to read everything, check the stuff that you pick up and you’ll be golden.

Don't be afraid of failed skill checks - in other games that might be just bad but in Baldur's Gate 3 it simply changes the outcome...and a failed check can lead to entirely different story developments.

As someone who wasnt an amazing fan of Divinity series (Just didnt enjoy the ending of both the games). Baldurs Gate 3 from the same studio absolutely smashed this out of the park (I paid for early access years ago as I enjoy turn based games) As soon as I heard the amazing voice acting, gameplay was polished even in early access with minimum classes at the time. Now fully released I'd give it a 9/10. Only reason is the tutorial part lost some interesting section if only minor. And the evil playthrough I just wished you could side with the bad people (You can till a certain point). If your after a story driver game rather then caring of rolls etc just play on easiest difficulty cause the story is worth the game 😄 (920 ish hours in total on the game)

I’m kinda iffy on turn based combat (not saying that every game needs some form of active combat) but the setting and story seems very interesting to me. I saw a post on twitter that shows the million different ways a mission can go depending on choices and It makes me feel excited/overwhelmed. Also the multitude of menus makes my brain break just a little. Not the games fault but it’s something that I would have to deal with if I chose to spend $70 on it.
