Baldurs Gate 3 - On release day had it all in for audio - or did it?

First time I saw a gameplay video I’ve been very confused about how the VO had no post production or any blend with ambiences, I want to play more and listen more to have a better opinion about it. Thank you for the content!

Hi there, great insight! Your voice recording is dropping out in some spots. Consonants mostly. Still intelligible if you are paying attention. Is that some kind of denoise plugin hitting to hard? Waves Clarity VX? Sonible Smart Gate? Other? Doesn't sound like RX. Agree on the mix. Seems to be a thing in a lot games. Great individual designs but the mixes are all over the place. I am sure there a number of reasons why such as time. Like 95% on everything else and 5% on mix, for example. Anyhow, new subscriber. Appreciate the content. I am on a game audio learning curve and a complete sound nerd over here. I reckon this channel can answer at least some of the myriad of questions I have. Thanks in advance.

Idk man, in general the mix is awful. I really want to give the game a try so badly, but I just can't. Voices in this game are completely stripped off of their body. Everything has so so much high end, it's really hard, harsh, unpleasing to hear. :(

I agree. Love the game but the mix is so inconsistent and can’t find a good fix for the life of me. No matter what I do something is always off (be it music, voices, ambience, SFX)
