Death Ward does not work on Honour Mode at least. It immediately gives you a Game Over.

For number 12, if you're not playing on honor mode and press F5 (quicksave) on the Game Over screen, and then reload, you can continue playing with an entire party of Mindflayers. Just fast travel out of the area you're trapped in and keep playing like normal. Might work on number 14 as well.

With Philomeen, if Grymforge is the last thing you do in Act 1, chances are, you'll be level 6 by then. With things like Aid and some good rng, you can, in fact, survive the blast.

Interesting, pondering on the Gale blows up the Netherbrain in moonrise. So Elminster stands safely at a distance, Mystra is safe, and the mind flayers take over the Sword Coast. So is Mystra actually evil. In league with the Illithids? It is she who engineers that Gale is a walking bomb and encourages him to use it. Sounds pretty much like a death cult to me.

Nice job with the editing on the video, it was a very fun video. There is another insta wipe that I had in the House of Hope. Found that out the hard way on honor mode. If you accept the Raphael deal for the hammer, then you go to the House of Hope and do something there that angers Raphael. If you forget to deal with your contract before leaving, Raphael wont show up ready to fight, he will show up and immediately kill you. I was so focused on preparing for the fight that I forgot to destroy the contract. Bright side, you get new dialogue from Raphael before you die and lose all your progress

Just imagine the plot tree them must have there - accounting for option over option in dialogues and actions and then adding consequences of early dialogues later in the game, and then someone has to write all these lines and then voice them. It’s a huge, huge cultural creation effort.

@@sesimie Yes - I’ve written a small text-RPG myself, and just having a dice roll with different results gets your state space to explode, so you always have to think hard how to merge plotlines together again and again to keep that kind of manageable in a set-piece like structure. And still honor all decisions by players to ensure that every decision has at least one consequence.

Ohhh I remember doing the jump to the underdark in my first playthrough. Wasn't so much concerned that I just died more blown away by the fact that there was a whole underground section in act 1. Was the first time I realized just how massive the game was took just a bit under 200 hours to finish that first run and I still managed to miss a lil stuff here n there.

Gale killed my whole party on my first run but not that way. He was killed in combat and I didn't know that his corpse leaked a deadly miasma. I let everyone stand around his corpse while I tried to work out his crazy resurrection scheme. I was so shocked when game over suddenly appeared 😂

Because players were complaining that there was not an option not to kill fishermen because they couldn't figure out that killing mindflayer would break mind control, and fought and killed fishermen and thus "forcing players" to do it. It is on the players, but that is what player experience was for most of the EA players was a legit complaint from EA, just giving you the reason "why"

I think that's because it would be a difficult case to solve for the newly added paladin class, because paladin players may consider it unethical to outright kill a hurt opponent begging for help, while having no other way to deal with the mind-controlled fishermen without killing them. Maybe the devs decided that it was a tad early in the game to confront players with a situation where there is really no "good" solution where you can save everybody. Provided you considerer saving the life of one of those squidfaces a "good" thing, of course. But for people unfamiliar with the setting it could be unclear what the game expects them to do as a "good" character, considering there is also the whole oath system that may punish them if they choose a "bad" action.

I didn't properly finish the monastery, and took the mace without doing things correctly... wasn't a TPK though! I figured out how to get everyone to escape, and barely thought twice about the Githyanki as they were all trying to kill me at that point anyway. Lae'zel didn't take it too well though. Best and cinematic part of the game experience for me!

You missed one for Dark Urge, if you try save Shadowheart and don't kill the nightsong and wipe out last light then your assistant shows up and says your not being evil enough and says you need to kill Shadowheart on your next long rest. Your entire camp will turn on your and in my case Lazeal and Astarion found me covered in blood and then initiated combat in camp. Anywhere you try to go in camp all your party members are now hostile and join the fight so unless you can solo kill your entire party this is pretty much an insta death dead end.

Nr. 16: trying to do a good DU-run and going to bed after refusing to kill Isobel. Turns out Alfira isnt the only one getting murdered in your sleep by you. And also turns out your party doesnt appreciate people getting murdered in the night a second time. So they all turn on you. And you are basically forced to kill your entire campside alone, which is probably doable I guess but its pretty much game over.

There's another sudden death in Act 1 that's similar to the incident with Philomeen. The Zhentarim. Unless you're on the upper levels, if you choose to refuse to kill Rugan and keep the chest, as soon as the battle starts, one of the guards will toss a fire vial and blow you all to smithereens. That's how I lost one of my Honor playthroughs.😅

The New World Aeternum trailer looked good, however, did they forget who their target audience is? The protagonist shown should have looked more like Thor in an awesome armor set versus a Merry Sue. I found myself doing an eye-roll when I saw her in a "Gladiator Arena". Fine if you want to choose whatever as your protagonist in the game, but using a small woman in the trainer was a misstep and sends the wrong message in this current gaming environment. I will likely try the game "after" I watch gameplay myself and if I believe it delivers a good game.

The artifact should still be on SH to get this dialogue. Before certain patch last year (I think patch3 or patch4) that disabled auto-transfer of the artifact to you, it required recruiting SH and never dismissing her from the party, since on dismissal it auto-transferred to you. Right now, for almost a year, it will auto-transfer to you during initial reveal of the Chosen if you don't have SH in your active party (and there will be much less dialogue and context for this, but still ex-machina, you gotta have the box no matter what). SO, the condition now, and has been for a year, to get the option to rat out SH, is to have Shadoheart in your party at the moment of Chosen reveal (before Goblin camp) and to ensure the artifact is still bound to her.
