I completely agree. In fact, it’s helping me brush up on mine because I live in the US. I also show my mother your videos. Makes us feel like home, and she gets to see why I’ve become a plant enthusiast myself. Terima kasih Kak Sean 🙏💚

Wow, such beautiful plants. I can only dream of seeing all those in one place. Australia is really strict, we even have problems sending plants to certain states!
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
Yeahh. I hear tissue culture plants still in jars are very easy to ship into Aussie, maybe that is the future.

Next time if you visit Bali again, i would recommend to reach out their Platycerium people/community there. I think their Platycerium enthusiast is the most prominent from all of regions in Indonesia...
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
Whoaaa good to know. I did notice some during the bali plant event.
@dewantoroo2 жыл бұрын
@@onlyplants or you can simply find Platycerium collectors that live in Jakarta or near. I'm pretty sure there are few... I think It's interesting content to cover. Since it's very "underrated" plant genus (in my opinion), there are only 18 species in the world, and 4-5 species are actually native to Indonesian forest.

its so interesting listening to indonesian language. a couple of words that sounds familiar to me, "bunga" is fruit in the Philippines. you were talking about the anthurium flowers. "puti" is white in the Philippines. i know that there are a lot of Malaysian words that are similar to some of the dialects in the Philippines but I didn't know that Indonesian is also similar

Apparently a simple solution of water, dish soap, and baking soda works just as good as those commercial pesticides and fungicides (it works as both), and it doesn't harm the environment. Just saying . . (cheaper too).
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
They do work but its not as reliable and efficient as chemicals. The sweet spot is actually neem oil which does have a lot of reliability… or even better to use predatory bugs 🥹 Im trying to source some here but its impossible
@brocktoon82 жыл бұрын
@@onlyplants Ooh that's true, I forgot about neem oil and predatory bugs! I'd love to try both of those. I've tried the soap/baking soda and was surprised how well it worked for my problem but every problem is different and what works for one might not work for another. Thanks for reminding me about the neem oil! Predatory bugs are awesome too but a bit expensive for my purposes. Let me know in case you try that, I'd love to see a video on predatory bugs with updates! :D

I am currently in Bali and am hoping to visit some nurseries/plant stores during my last couple of days here. I already messaged Mentik Bali to schedule an appointment. Are there any other places here that you would recommend? Thank you!
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
Theres a stretch of nurseries near sanur. Theres a garden supply store called “tria garden” with a secret tillandsia nursery at the back. Find this in google maps and you should see the row of nurseries along it.

This is so beautiful! I live in New Zealand, and like you said Australia is almost impossible to export to, us in NZ are the same. It means prices are staying inflated much higher than elsewhere and are dropping much slower, though still quickly now. And plants that dropped in price a year ago elsewhere are only just starting to become less rare here. It's so interesting to compare all the different countries. Is plant culture very normal/popular in Indonesia in general? Or does it just seem like it to us because we see so many beautiful plants through yours and others channels?
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
Indonesia has a hugeeee population. I would say the percentage of population that is passionate and invested in plants here are much less than most developed countries.

I am from India, visiting Indonesia next month. Will I be able to carry few cutting of planes in the flight?

Unfortunately that is not advisable… customs in Indonesia might stop you, or customs upon arrival in India may also find the plants. Its a bit risky…

Do reach out to them directly on DM. If I recall correctly Canada requires an import permit but the application process is a walk in the park.
