Check Out www.mm3tuning.com for great engine and 48RE transmission tuning for 3rd gen 5.9 cummins dodge ram trucks.
Video shows replacing my worn ball joints on my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 with a set of new Heavy Duty Ball Joints from Detroit Axle. These Ball joints were only about $25 each which is far cheaper than a standard set. I chose to give Detroit axle ball joints a try because I also installed Detroit Axle hubs on my truck almost 100,000 miles ago and they are still going strong.
I'm hoping these will last even though they were cheap (I'm always looking for a bargain). Time will tell and I'll do another video after i get some miles on them.

Always involve your son, always. No matter what man. Came here for ball joints and saw an old man doing what an old man should be doing. Keep on it brother and involve him in everything.

I just got done doing balljoints on my 2005 two months ago. At the same time I did the Yukon free spin kit and new u joints up front. No more spinning front drivetrain. Also I have 2wd low which is great for backing trailers. Good work.

Thanks for turning me on to Detroit Axle. Am shocked by the low prices and that they offer 10 year warranty or lifetime warranty on parts which is awesome. Thanks a lot for the info.

how are these holding up? I have a set of detroit hubs waiting to go into my 08 2500 6.7 cummins and I realized it needs balljoints more than hubs. gonna just do them all at the same time. They worth it? I definitely love the price.

I watched what over torqued lug nuts do as a case in your point. They hit the right bump in the road and the wheel exploded off of the truck. Stripped every one of the studs threads off smooth. Very important. Good information on this vid tho.

For death wobble you really need to check every thing up front. Ball joints, track bar, control arms all need to be checked for loose bushings. I replaced all of my bushings with poly and haven't had death wobble since👍

what's your option on rebuildable balljoints? I was thinking this would be the way to go as they are much better built and should last much longer knowing that dodge ball joint design is crap combined with the big weight of the cummins make regular replacement... well more than regular. I guess its the price difference and if the life of rebuildable last long enough to warrant the 3x-6x the cost of non rebuildable. it would also be nice to only have to rent the ball joint tool once as you can rebuild while on the truck. I did some research and think it sounds like Dynatrac are the best but the rebuild kit alone is close to the cost of new non rebuildable ball joints. Have you heard from ppl using any and what are your thoughts? here is a quick vid of some kzbin.info/www/bejne/npbUcmxsjbWWjJo

Do you own a torque wrench? These ball joints are way too tight and may cause memory steer. There is a procedure for tightening the ball joint nuts that you either didn't do or left out of this video. There is also a procedure for correctly greasing ball joints.
