I am from Bulgaria and I am an astronomer, I work in a planetarium. I have never been a ballerina and I am almost 60 years old. Every morning I listen to your videos. I don't look what movements you show. I just listen to the music and do gymnastics, and jump, and run and dance for 40 minutes. It helps me so much and gives me energy for the whole day. Thank you so much. I really enjoy your classes and they have helped me immensely. I am 54 years old and have been dealing with tight hip flexors and a bad low back. I had significant problems with balancing on one leg, especially the right as that is my bad leg. Because of your classes, my low back pain has subsided and I am regaining strength and flexibility. Thank you so much the Dutch National Ballet for giving us the wonderful classes taught by Ernst accompanied by live music from Rex. These were truly superb and reunited me with ballet after many years of status quo. Ernst, you were by far the best teacher on KZbin and the most accessible. You made complex combinations look easy and most of all you helped people like me who did ballet for many years in their youth and have good skills, albeit perhaps rusty, able to dance again. I personally find classes taught by ballerinas rather intimidating as I am not able to stretch my leg behind my head whilst technically proficient. Your inspired classes were a breath of fresh air and didn't rely on a display of plunging arabesques or suppleness thus making me resume regular ballet and rediscovering that years of ballet were not done in vain. I will continue to train few times a week with you replaying the 11 barres and 3 centre classes for weeks to come. And I will be enchanted to be a spectator of the Dutch National Ballet when it performs in London in the future and give back what you, Ernst and Rex, have given me. Thank you Ernst and Rex! These videos have been wonderful! The instruction is clear and the reduced instruction on the second side has been a good challenge. Rex's accompaniment is fabulous and I love watching him play. Since I only started ballet three years ago (I'm a 50-year-old English professor), I've relied on daily follow along videos to supplement my weekly classes. Until your videos I had never found any that I liked led by a male dancer. Although these are obviously great for men or women, I'm especially thankful to have a good male role model. I had to stop dancing for nearly a year because I moved to a place where every room I could find had a tiled floor (including what they call dance studios!). During the lockdown I've ended up at my own home in Ireland and have been able to dance in my spare room. Without your videos I would have taken so much longer to get back in shape. In just over a month you have brought me back to feeling like my body is doing what it should again and I am nearly in tears writing this because of how grateful I am for what you have given during this time. I only got up to Barre No 11 today! So, from South Africa, thank you so much, Ernst, for the wonderful classes, beautifully constructed and marvellously demonstrated. Also, for your encouragement and enthusiasm, and your generosity in sharing your knowledge and your time. A big thank you, too, to Rex for the fabulous music. I will miss having a 'live' pianist. Btw, I am in a group of people who have been doing ballet class together for the past 27 years. I wish you all good things going forward, and may you keep safe, healthy and well.

No, I can't believe we're losing you both - Your ballet company are SO lucky to have such an amazing tutor and pianist. I will miss you both but am hoping the classes will stay on You Tube so that I can go over and over them daily. I no longer go to class as there is nothing here for me but I used to be an assistant dance tutor and have taught abroad on one-to-one basis. I am now officially 'ancient' but I have enjoyed your barre work no end. Thank you Ernst and Rex from the bottom of my heart, you have made this lockdown period something magical and I will always remember these classes. Jx
