Ballet Barre 6 (Online Ballet Class) - Dutch National Ballet

We’ve developed a few ‘online ballet classes’ for our dancers, but you can join from your living room as well. Ernst Meisner will teach you this sixth Ballet Barre from our studio in Amsterdam. Ernst Meisner, artistic coordinator of the Junior Company, teaches this barre and pianist Rex Lobo accompanies him on the piano. We will stream a ballet barre on KZbin every Monday and Friday and will go live during a class with dancers (via ZOOM) on our Facebookpage Het Nationale Ballet. All classes start at 11am (CET).

As I child loved ballet classes but my father always thought it was not worth it to pay for classes. I used to live in front of a ballet academy and they let me in to watch classes when ever I wanted. These classes remind me of that period of my life: Watch, memorize and learn and by your own place practice and enjoy!!

Amazing class. I'm a retired Cecchetti dancer. I'm currently recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus (from rock climbing, not dancing) and have been using ballet barre to supplement my physical therapy. He is very good. Clear, precise instructions, no nonsense, just do it! And, unlike many teachers, he actually does the moves to show you how to do it. And, don't forget the pianist. He is greatfor that type of music. Having good real live piano music makes a big difference. It inspires to greater effort. I absolutely detest modern music played for ballet or even just for warm up exercises. Especiallywhen over a bad PA system from some dreadful recording on an ancient CD player, like one often gets in many ballet studios. OK for many dancerswho only hear beats and rhythm ie are tone deaf, no musicality, just focussed on the physical, like they need to be, to concentrate intensely. But it really does grate and distract any dancer who does happen to be musical, too.
