Building a Cow Shed (22) - Pouring the Ready-Mix.`

Here is where it's really happening. Two lorries of concrete in one frame and the pouring and spreading and tamping all going on. This is for the floor of the second stage of this big shed.

I guess they do things a lot different in the UK, then the states, ready mix trucks carry extra shoots, the controls are on the drivers side ( like Duuuu ) , As for the masons , they not only will have there own shoots also, but screet boards , and you know, masonry tools, and certainly not 2 or 3 guys standing around while one guy try's to place 30 or 40 yards of concrete by him self .

Yes, we do things different. Here we use chutes (a shoot is when you drive your Pheasants or rabbits towards the guns). Perhaps, these guys being farmers and farm staff, are not so well equipped as your professionals?

Why not use the shoots that the concrete plant provide ! You got so many guys just standing around asking for work . Would have been much easier and faster . But I guess those shoots are just for decoration where you guys are from . 👌🏼

Slump refers to the wetness of the concrete. Mpa refers to concrete strength. The concrete company has different mixes for various applications. Any given mix will have its own rock/sand/cement ratio to give it the desired strength at a workable slump (usually 100mm 0r 4"). Adding more water to the mix design will make it easier to work the concrete but will also weaken the concrete, as its strength derives from the cement/water ratio. I hope you find this useful.

@@balmesh I noticed the same thing right away as well. clockwise as you face the back is charge here, counterclock wise is discharge. Something I just thought of, liters of water per meter of concrete vs gallons of water per yard of concrete... bet that's a hard conversation lol. Here we set up our water tanks to add roughly one gallon per second.

@@balmesh sure, you can feel smart about that kinda answer ... but when it comes to safety, When employees may strike their heads against fixed objects, trucks, excavator buckets, rebar, or splashes of the product (like concreat), Around construction sites, hard hats are the best way to protect yourself from permanent, life-changing injuries or death. I think b4 commenting a really uneducated answer like you just did, you should go and work around equipment. And if you do I don't imaging you commenting much longer on youtube channels to random people much longer
