That Cylon pilot is not only humorous, but extremely cocky. As the Pegasus is headed right for Baltar's ship, the Cylon pilot does not take evasive maneuvers. The Cylon clearly sees the Pegasus, but is also waiting to get Baltar's reaction. Then, receiving his reward of a terrified Baltar, the Cylon turns away from the Pegasus at the last second. Yet, even at point blank range, the Pegasus laser canons miss the Cylon ship (in part 2). The likely reason for this is given in the prior scene when Baltar commands Lucifer to provide him a ship with his two best pilots.

It was clear Baltar was not a victim of the Cylons but clearly a traitor to humanity. I always wondered if he knew that even after accomplishing his goal of beating Adama he'd be executed. I once read that the studios [whichever owns the rights to the franchise] are considering doing a newer version of the series that is different from the reboot is there any new information I can't find anything even concept art is lacking on both versions. Can you also help me possibly on any site that has clear concise photos [for my own personal use] of the studio model? Or is there a detailed CGI model available for download? This was perhaps the single greatest moment of the series. It is an interesting note to end on a cliffhanger. Normally, a cliffhanger like that would be when the hero of a show faced sudden or unexpected danger, not the villain. @Zurround2 жыл бұрын
I think what made it a "cliffhanger" was that the Galactica was SUPPOSED to be the LAST and only remaining Battlestar. Damn, Battlestar Galactica sounds so damned cool, the way it rolls off of the tongue. In the original mythos there were 120 Battlestars and I wonder if a bunch of executives in the board room were one at a time practicing phrasing "Battlestar Orion" then "Battlestar Atlantis" and then"Battlestar Epsilon" etc and having to FIGURE OUT which one of the Battlestars had the coolest sounding name until they finally decided on the Galactica. The characters IN the story, both human and Cylon AND the people WATCHING THE SHOW all thought there were no other Battlestars left. Even the SCRIPT WRITERS probably thought that then decided it would be cool to introduce another Battlestar so in order to avoid continuity errors there had to be a back story that established that they were wrong to assume it had been destroyed and a reason why it took so long to reunite with the other surviving Battlestar. If the mythos had not made such a big deal about the Galactica being the ONLY remaining Battlestar then it would not have been as big a deal

@@r.michaelmclellan6286 I remember that episode, but in my opinion, the best Deep Space 9 Colicos episode was when he, Michael Ansara, and William Campbell; all reprised their roles of Kor, Kang, and Koloth in _Blood Oath_ it was a shame the other two didn't want to continue doing the series after that. It's almost as if some other franchise put explosive charges in their consoles... 🤔 Hmmmm... you might be on to something here 🌞

But that “other franchise” has been going strong since the 60’s. Where is Battlestar Galactica now? I have heard whispered rumors of another reboot. How many times can you tell the same story?

I love the original series better than the remake.
@odysseusrex59082 жыл бұрын
The original series was fun and campy, and therefore unrealistic. The remake was very realistic, and therefore dark, dreary and depressing. It was undeniably very well done, but I don't find dark, dreary and depressing to be entertaining, so I didn't watch more than three or four episodes in the entire run.
@Zurround2 жыл бұрын
I way prefer the charisma of the original Starbuck and Apollo actors. Call me sexist all you want but Dirk Benedict was way cooler than that blonde lady. I also prefer the more "old school" effects to the cartoonish CGI. CGI is over relied on. And Richard Hatch was way more handsome than that generic actor who was the new Apollo.

Same. I watched reruns of the original as a kid in the 80s and loved every second. I enjoyed the remake for what it was, but the original was more hopeful and positive.

Until Will Riker's order to "Fire" in the best of both worlds, in TNG, THIS was the best episode hanging ending. Baltar's disbelief, was well played. And the static, humorless voice of the cylon was the perfect foil when Baltar expressed "That's impossible!" With the reply "No, that is a Battlestar.

Humans flew another Raider when Starbuck and Apollo stole one in a different episode and they were almost destroyed by "friendly fire" but luckily Commander Tie (forgot the name, the African American actor) figured out it was them. Thing is, Cylons are ROBOTS so they do not need AIR TO BREATHE but somehow when a human gets into one of the raiders there is LIFE SUPPORT to keep them alive? For Baltar it makes sense, as he was their leader on that mission they would have made ADJUSTMENTS to the ship to keep him alive but the ship Star Buck and Apollo Stole? Pretty damned convenient that it was fully of BREATHABLE AIR and life support systems.....

Loved this Baltar look. I remember hoping it would somehow inspire live-action Spider-Man or Hulk to have Magneto show up. I mean we'd all gotten use to cheapo TV special FX making things move because of telekinesis, magic and ghosts (even gladly willing ourselves to not see the wires); so how hard could it have been to blame it on magnetism?

In the original movie, Baltar was killed. There are some fantastic outtakes here on KZbin that show just exactly why and how it happened. When it went to television, Baltar was brought back simply because he's such an awesome villain. In the television remake Baltar was a good villain, though in the original he was much better.
