Baltic Sea Slalom Session with @Nico Prien and @Andy Laufer

We had lots of fun windsurfing at Grönwohld / Ostsee testing a JP Australia Slalom 72 Prototype for 2022. Nico was on a 7.4 Neil Pryde EVOXII and a medium board. I started with 8.2, big board, switched to the medium 72 porto after 10 minutes as the wind picked up. I had a huge crash at the end, hitting the water backwards @70km/h straight into a wave wich hurt my neck quite bad. One of the worst wipeouts I had since long.

Had a quick solo session a few days later @Heiligenhafen lighthouse, training for the German Windsurfcup (Deutscher Windsurfcup) at Hohenfelde.

Wow this reminds me of my F2 sunset slalom back in the days. Also on Baltic Sea/California and other great spots. It is just beautiful.

I hope you are ok? i just broked my cervical 7 on a windsurf crash these summer. Full speed catapault, harness lines got in when i falled... hospital.... cervical fracture... it could be more bad for me (i could return to beach without rescue...).long time away from the water for me!!! I hope you will recover rapidely!!!

Really nice video. Is PWA using this view also for slalom races? Instead of boring live streams I would prefer a video like this which includes me directly in the action. Maybe this cannot be done live, but maybe some hours later 😉

yes, that is exactly what I want to invent. Live stream onboard cam. problem is, that with that thing on the head you are not 100% focused. but I ll try next time. cheers

Did you and Nico use the GoPro mouth grip to film your windsurfing or just take turns with a GoPro mounted onto a helmet? also great video love how high quality it is :))

I have seen a few crashes where you let go of the boom and just flew forward. I was wondering how you didn't get stuck in the harness I always thaught never let go of the boom? I would very much appreciate an answer and great action and speed keep it up!

beim Sturz sau schnell Roland :) ansonsten wars kein schneller Tag, nur ca. 36.5kn. sind auch nicht auf Topspeed gefahren.. Grüßle
