14 കി/hr എന്ന് പറഞാൽ ഒരു സൈക്കിൾ വേഗത പോലും ഇല്ല എന്നർത്ഥം.. എന്നിട്ടും ഭീമാകാരമായ അ പാലം എങ്ങനെ തകർന്നു എന്ന് ചന്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവിടെയാണ് ശാസ്ത്രത്തിൻ്റെ ഒരു കൗതുകം ... കപ്പലിൻ്റെ മോമൻ്റം(ആക്കം) ആണ് പാലം തകരാൻ കാരണം... ആക്കം = പിണ്ഡം x പ്രവേഗം ( p= m*v) . വേഗത കുറവാണെങ്കിലും കപ്പലും അതിലുള്ള കണ്ടെയ്നർ കളും ചേർന്ന് ഭീമമായ മാസ്സ് ആണ് കപ്പലിനുള്ളത് .. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ വേഗത കുറവാണെങ്കിലും മോമൻ്റം വളരെ കൂടുതലാണ്... ഇതേ വേഗത്തിൽ ആ ടഗ് ബോട്ട് ആണ് ഇടിച്ചതെങ്കിൽ ചിലപ്പോൾ ടഗ് ബോട്ട് തകരും എന്നല്ലാതെ പാലത്തിന് ഒന്നും സംഭവിക്കില്ല....

Being a marine engineer i can assure dat u ve done a great job.. but der r some flaws like, 4:28 tho E/G is a small generator but it's still able to handle d power required to operate critical machineries like emergency steering gear, emergency fire pump, emergency air compressor etc.. as per d regulations emergency Dg should start n take on load within 45 secs after d blackout if d second n third generator failed to start, dat is what happened here too. But there was something wrong with engine or circuit dats why it wasn't able to supply load. dat is yet to b found out

Emergency generator in ships are connected to emergency switch board. Emergency switch board gives supply for essential or critical equipments. Steering gear comes under critical equipment . One mod the two electric motors of the steering gear is considered as emergency steering gear motor . This one will still function if there is a complete black out from main generators. This ship have 4 generators. During passage two generators will be on load . In case of black out other generators which are on stby will automatically start and come on load as per the stby selection . Here seems first main generator goes out again power coming back that looks like stby generator ., means third generator came on load and that too got tripped. Now fourth generator also will try to come that’s not showing here. Emergency generator will automatically start and come on load after 45 seconds only. If before this 45 seconds. , main generator is starting , emergency generator will not start automatically. Looks like the time delay below 45 seconds between starting of main generators and frequent black caused 45 second time setting of emergency generator did not allow the same to start and come onload. If emergency generator was onload they might have use there steering gear. Also main engine also tripped, which will cause reduction in speed and will lead to drag. All generators tripped and caused black out, looks like a common problem , may be cooling water issue due to fish clogging on sea chest filters. Or fuel issues. Emergency generator in ships are independent machinery and kept outside of main machinery space. These have separate fuel system and inbuilt cooling system .emergency generator control selector switch have manual and auto position, if forgot to put back to auto after routine trying out and inspection which is done weekly, it will not start automatically during black out scenario. But it will show an indication in control room that it is not in auto. But this should be checked and verified before departure using predeparture checklist
