I got a P1S, two AMS units, the hardened gear upgrade, 3 nozzles, 20 spools of filament (from Amazon and Ali) and some other goodies for the price of just the X1C combo. There is a reason all the ppl with print farms have a bunch of P1S or P1P and not a bunch of X1C. At the end of the day it really depends if you feel that the screen and the lidar is worth $500 or not and that's a question only you can answer.
@ItsMeaDMaDeАй бұрын
True statement some people can justify it others can’t. In the end they both print pretty much the same as long as you have the upgrades. How is the Ali filament I’ve heard good and bad stories from it. Never tried it. My new favorite is becoming kingroon it’s pretty affordable on Amazon.
@bbc92314Ай бұрын
It’s a lot more than lidar and screen. Faster CPU that allows for things like better camera, AI detection and additional monitoring like chamber temp. For print farms those probably don’t mean much but for users that are using the machine for prototypes and high end material, these do come into play.

So I would say yes you will see a noticeable increase in speed. For a bed slinger it’s honestly really fast. Just takes a bit of work when it comes to supports to make sure they don’t fall off when it’s printing fast. That’s why I upgraded to the super tack plates they do a good job with it.

I bought the P1S with the AMS combo. I'm so happy with it. After calibrating non-bambu filaments, it's an impressive 3d printer. It's fast, reliable and very efficient. Some fine tuning and tinkering helps A LOT. It's a time and filament investment when you're adjusting parameters, but it's so worth it to avoid stringing, blobs, under/overextrusion, and consistent layers. I gotta say I've got best results with bambu filament, as the presets are already in bambu studio, but manually tuning every parameter makes prints look even better. And Orca Slicer adds a bunch of features for that, I 100% recommend it!

Excellent video, as always. Very informative. It's good to know that the P1S can be upgraded for the tougher filaments, but I *think* that only allows them to be used with the rear spool, not the AMS. I may be wrong, though, it's not completely clear to me. As I write this it is the last days of November and Bambu Lab is having a very good sale right now.
@ItsMeaDMaDeАй бұрын
Thanks!! So you are partially right. There are some filaments that are recommended to only use as the single feed spool. There are others that you can use the ams. It really is dependent on the filaments but definitely something to keep in mind when using an AMS.

Right now I'm only interested in personal prints maybe some functional stuff. Besides the P1S itself, what else do I need? I've heard to get a spare hotend assembly and some way to dry filament? Also best place to buy filament? PLA is fine for now I think.
@ItsMeaDMaDeАй бұрын
Well to be honest you'll get a different response from just about anyone you ask. But personally all I usually recommend is the printer, a few spools of filament (PLA) and a really good pair of snips. Everything isn't fully necessary. Over time you will find you want to get some extra things like an extra nozzle but you don't have too. I don't have any extra if something breaks I just buy a new one and wait a few days. Instead of buying stuff I don't need. When it comes to filaments. Here are my top brands. Inland (great if you have a microcenter near you), Polymaker and Kingroon. These filaments haven't failed me and I've use more spools than I can count. best of luck and I hope this helped.

NO! I only said that because most people starting a business invest in things that save you time and or peace of mind. You can absolutely start a business with a P1s. The first layer detection is just great if your starting a bunch of prints and you don't have to go back to check them. If your just getting one and want to just intermittently check them you will be just fine. Since that's what you would do with any other brand printer. There all good machines and you could absolute start a business with any one of them.

The A1 also has another feature the others don't that you forgot. It has pressure advance. Oh and the A1 and mini also have basically hot swappable nozzles which the others don't have And the AMS lite has a printable enclosure so your spools won't be exposed to the humidity. You also skipped the P1P and H2D. Yeah the X1C is the flagship... For a few more weeks anyways. How much will the X1C and the other printers drop if anything when the H2D drops? I ended up picking up the A1 combo Because I think it's too early to invest in a core XY with a multi tool on the horizon.
@qprof17 күн бұрын
@andreamitchell4758, sounds like you know a lot about the differences of the models, and the A1 Combo is a great deal that you can't beat if you have to get one now. I started back in 2010 using a 3 head BFB-3003 printer when 3D Printers were starting to come out into the mainstream and later on picked up an Ultimaker2 - which has been a workhorse since. I am/was considering the X1 for longer term, but was thinking the same for the H2D as it is rumored to have dual head, larger print bed (would really love this!), heated chamber, new AMS Pro, probably better ranged specs of capability, and whatever other innovative advancements they will most likely have. My concern that has me on edge of the fence whether to buy now or wait (waiting I can do, its the other concerns I have), is this the threat of US to Canada Tariffs coming late January and the question of how much the new one will actually end up costing in the end... which for me in Canada, makes the current end-of-year sale discount VERY tempting (on the fence as to what to do)... as with the looming possible tariffs, the possible further degrade of the US/Canada dollar, and the upgraded new non-discounted H2D AMS Pro Combo offer, it is most likely going to be VERY steep in comparison, for what will be their new flagship top of the line model, most likely for the industry also, given their past track record! Anyone else including @ItsMeaDMaDein, would appreciate your thoughts on this.
@andreamitchell475817 күн бұрын
@@qprof yes I admit I also took tariffs into consideration when making my decision. But I doubt they will go into effect in January. They might not go into effect at all and might be just a scare tactic and bargaining chip. Also last time there were exemptions on consumer electronics. And Lutnick said (I don't trust this guy) that it would only apply to goods the US doesn't make. Haha laughable that would exclude almost everything since the US makes almost nothing and is a service based economy in severe decline. Anyway I am really hoping that the H2D will have 2 dual extruder tool heads so it can have 4 independent nozzles. Just have it dock one tool head on back like the Prusa XL does. Having 2 dual extruder tool heads would double the efficiency over a prussa XL with 4 tool heads. If the H2D doesn't have it it will probably be the next thing to come out after that. I Bambu they claim the new printer will be "game changing" and dual extruder tool heads are not new at all, but a tool changer with 2 dual extruder tools Heads certainly would be. Plus I feel like the name suggests it. H= Heater chamber, 2= 2 tool heads, D= dual extruder heads.
@qprof17 күн бұрын
@@andreamitchell4758 Well if H2D does have all what has been rumored, this will be an excitingly new innovation from a solid and consistent working system/manufacturer. The tariffs definitely causing concerns though... we'll see soon enough though. Back in 2010, I worked with the BFB-3000 3D printer with three static heads, so multi heads is not that new, but with some new hardware tech, process, and software from Bambu, hopefully this will make a better variation of the Prusa XL- cheaper, more practical, and less time for colour prints.

@ItsMeaDMaDeАй бұрын
Honestly if you keep having fails that many times I don't think the printer is the issue. Its probably the way your slicing the files. Switching printers won't make fails go away if I can't print something successful on my P1s then I wouldn't be able to print it on my X1C the only difference is it will tell me its failed. I'd do some more digging into the slicer and maybe upgrade the build plate before getting a new printer.

@ItsMeaDMaDe I totally understand what you're saying and I agree. But I should of mentioned that I am completely new to 3d printing, so when I setup up the new printer, with the supplied Bambu filament and tried the print the on board benchy file, and it failed, you can imagine my dissapointmeant!! I am starting to learn the slicer, and trying to figure out the settings to help prevent failures. However, I'm only using Bambu PLA and I'm suffering from a number of issues like bed adhesion, warping, stringing, initial layer failures, overhang fails etc! To be honest, I do have a technical background, so I did expect some issues, but I was hoping to have more confidence when setting a print off!! Instead, I'm now very nervous about each print, and feel I have to sit and watch it!!

Started with the the 3 V3 Neo, then a 3 3vKE, then a 3 3vKE. They mostly make great prints. Ha Ha then bought a A1. Night and day the A1 is amazing. Ordered a Ps1 - waiting for its arrival. Great information video. Love your work - thank you. I have only had one failed print with the A1. Only because I put it into Ludicrous mode with a off brand filiment. But I have used Ludicrous mode on other print modes with the bambu filament with amazing results. So I have some creality printers for sale!

I just ordered the p1s combo. New to 3D printing but I was sold on it, plus we have cats :)

Purchased a P1S a few weeks ago. Great to have a printer, that just works, out of the box (also AMS). Last few days, have had a few issues, with bed adhesion. I've a feeling, it's the filament, rather than the machine, itself.

I have a P1s with the Ams. I'm thinking of getting a second pinter. Im am genuinely stuck between the A1 and the A1 mini. I dont want the Ams lite for it because if i need to print something with the Ams, I will use my P1S. Im thinking the A1 mini because it's cheaper, but the A1 has the same build plate as the P1S so i don't need to buy more plates. On the other hand, I dont need to print large stuff.

I am 3d printing newbie, sometime ago bought my first 3d printer, A1 mini. Still waiting it for arrive, hope it will be as good as in videos 😊

Thats awesome. Its a good little printer. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it does and to be honest the biggest surprise is I thought the build plate was too tiny but most of the prints I do fit on the plate. So I find myself printing on that more lately than my A1. I'm sure you'll love it. Good luck and happy printing!

@ItsMeaDMaDe Thanks, already started printing. It really is good 😊

Not really, a P1P is a P1S, just without panels. There is not much difference to say there would be a print difference.

I agree with your summary; A1 + PS1 but: Missing from Bambu Labs is any information on FPS, that is Frames Per Second of the video captured, also missing is the fact that the A1 printers issue a warning when you enable timelapse video, basically the video subsystem sucks or in English is useless. There doesn't appear to be any 'upgrade' just a standalone Wi-Fi based camera add-on if you have to have a 'look' while printing. You also don't mention the 'LOCAL' option, a lot of what the cloud offered has been moved to the local mode but if you have to check your prints remotely and don't know how to setup your router for remote access, the cloud works.

Basically, if you can afford the carbon, it's the best, but if not, the P1S combo is a really good advanced version that does almost as much for half the cost.

i regret you didi just regret you did make all 4 prints at the same scale to compare the quility and print time with a like to like. After that,then print just 1 full size 250mm build for time and quality changes for larger scale up projects.

Thanks this was the content i wanted to see. Just a request please just don't throw or mess the strings and other minute plastics, they will eventually become microplastic and cause harm. instead contain them safely (Ecobricks) and then dispose it. this way they won't have a change to escape in environment.

Dunno Have an A1 (gift... grrr) With What has Proven (for me at least) the real life useless AMS contraption. Clearly THE best method to turn a 1 hour print into a 5 + hour print..Yipeee! First printing problem I noticed was the PEI print plate is erm.. unreliable.. failed prints are us. PLA does not stick to it reliably (been printing for 10 years, I've learned the bed plate drill :-) Glue stick and or painters tape works. Second print issue i tripped over was that the SAME stl. sliced with Studio.. Produced a markedly different (poor) quality print With ZERO machine, filament or Studio settings changes. EXPLAIN that one.. please ? Bumboo slicer is Crap IMO Unintuitive inconsistent and Not user friendly. Have downloaded it Twice... just to check. Control over temps and fan use is tied to Filament (typically Bumboo Preset levels) which are FAR too high and often (commonly it seems) clogs users' Nozzles ... the the filaments get baked in the hot ends. I've reverted to using Prusa slicer and .. I get better quality prints than I did from Studio (same stl.s) Then there is the STUPID Bumboo (studio) setup dance /drill.. Before EACH and every print start.. Seriously ?? Utterly pointless as No machine messes it's settings between prints. AND IF resetting was Actually required there IS a "calibration' button. Consequently My Bumboo gets a 7 out of 10 rating and that's being generous. Camera? It's worse than those front door mounted Peepholes. I have Tiny 2 gram 4 k cameras (FPV drones) that cost Me a whopping 10$ from ailexpress

@barenekid9695, I am looking at a new 3D printer, sounds like you are not at all satisfied with the A1 Bambu printer and eco system. Yes understandably colours is a problem with extreme extended time because of the the required process (I had an old BFB-3000 back in 2010 with similar time constraints), and Bambu's software in your opinion is not the best. I have heard mostly positive consistent comments on the P1 and X1 variants.... have you had any positives with the A1, as it sounds like you would definitely get something else... I was currently looking at the X1c (considered an industry standard to measure from), Qidi Plus 4 (relatively new with a lot better specs than the P1/X1's), or Creality K2 Plus (old unit models prone to lots of problems). I am also considering to just wait for the new H2D as it is rumored to have dual head (could be a huge time saver), larger print bed, heated chamber, new AMS Pro, probably better ranged specs of capability, and whatever other innovative advancements they may also have. Have you considered other printers yourself or would you, given your 10 year experience, upgrade to a "better" model and/or brand if you could?
