I would rather use the full size AMS because it keeps the filament dry. I still think the P1S is a better choice. For the same size bed, a smaller operational footprint, the streamlined nature of the AMS sitting on top, and the flexibility to use most any plastic on the market, it’s just a better deal across the board.

Agree overall, For the easier stuff I print in PLA this has been great so far but its only been a couple days.

if you’re looking at it from the pov of someone that has a printer or has dabbled/knows they want to move into multi colour printing - sure. The primary driver for the A1/mini is the entry price. IMO Bambu are making a mistake defaulting to the AMS combo on their website for this, they should push the solo printer. Potential journey - buy A1/mini for single colour; learn enough to know you want to do more so you spend $150-200 to get the AMS and branch out into multi-colour/multi material or simply simpler access to your primary filaments; start to want higher temps/temp control for ABS, humidity control/dry box etc - now you consider jumping onto a P1S and selling your A1 to someone that will start their journey.
