Easily the best review that I have ever watched. It's like you were narrating exactly what was in my head, but in a much more organized way. Whenever I get asked why bambu, I'm not going to explain anymore, I'll just link to this. Well done.

This is why I like your channel. You have great, clear, concise content. Easy to understand and follow. Not any amount of fluff or fill. Very interesting subject especially with the E3 info... Just like I did. The only difference was I waited and ended up with a P1S w/AMS. And yes, it just works. Thank you for continuing the journey.

I still have love/hate with that Ender. It was the baseline of how I view printers now. I just wouldnt wish it on anyone in 202X. I dont have the Prusa but the Ender is a filament rack and dryer now. If the P1S was available back then I would have been fine with that too. Thank you for your continued support.

Hello. I had a question for you. Does the P1S with AMS have auto refill(filament redundancy) in bambu studio? @ 18:19 Someone on the forums mentioned it may not and I assumed it does.

Pretty much the same journey I took. I got Ender 3V2 and did alot of tinkering(adding RPi, camera with Octoprint, cool cable chains 😂)but learned so much. It's in a corner somewhere at my house and I will give it to someone for fee eventually. Then got the Mk3S+ and spent two days building it but couldnt believe how much of a upgrade it was(I really look forward to their true next gen printers). Then yesterday, my friend showed me their X1C combo and I ordered one within the hour 😂. Look forward to getting it in a few days and not having to build it. What a time to be alive! Cant metal 3D printers hurry up and become common hobbyist use so they become affordable!!!

One of the things that impressed me about Bambu Lab is their updates and their commitment to their customers, I bought 7 Creality machines before the X1 Carbon and FW updates usually broke features on the printer, I learned fast not to use Creality FW, for years they couldnt even get the ABL on their printers to perform a uniform probing of the bed, every one of those printers came with issues that had to be fixed, I estimate I could have paid for my X1 Carbon with the upgrades alone. I love my X1 Carbon and AMS!

Dont remind me. 🤣I had the same issue when I upgraded to the Cr touch. Firmware that was hosted on someone google drive was the only one that worked properly. I wont say i'll never touch a creality printer again but they have an uphill battle before I shell out $$$. lol

This was a very good review of the BL X1C 3D Printer. It’s clear that your experience enabled you to learn a lot about this printer that most users will not have to experience. At the same time It’s good to know that what you started with has only gotten better over time and that you’re still happy with the printer. My first printer was a Creality Ender 3 S1 and I kicked myself for not waiting a couple months when the S1 pro came out, but it was still a very good printer for me to learn on. I now have the BL X1C and it is my best and favorite printer and I use it a lot in our 42 foot fifth wheel RV. We sold our stick-and-brick home last year and went full time in the RV during the summer of 2022. My wife is very sensitive to sound and smells and she doesn’t mind the X1C running inside the RV and since I vent it outside she doesn’t complain about any smells either. I only print PLA, PETG and some TPU so I haven’t needed to worry about ABS or ASA smells….yet.

Thank you very much. I think some "long term use" reviews can give a (slightly) better picture than a quick 2 week one that some channels do. Even if I am a data point of 1 it helpful to see users point of view good and bad. Mine has been nearly all good and the bad is quickly forgettable or learning the printer quirks. I hope what I learn I can give back in a positive way. So many of us start with a creality at some point and it will make or break us but it was a notable learning experience. It's awesome you can use the printer in an enclosed space. Do you have it on a table or floor for prints? I threw mine on an uneven laminate floor with a cheap Ikea "Lack" end table and its been rocking and rolling.

I saw a couple 3D printing videos on YT and I thought I can do that, my dads friend sold me a heavily modded and used Voxelab Aquila S2 and I only had that for a couple days before ordering the X1C w AMS. Side note: sale on Bambus website starting June 5th at 8 pm But at 8:17 that’s what my dad’s friend says, it just works, no tinkering, no messing around, just slice and print and most times the print will finish w no problem. I’m a newb to all of this, and I just did a 19hr T800 print, Timelapse video on my channel. Hell, I might buy another AMS so I don’t have to do filament swaps

I jumped in about 6 months ago with the Bambu X1C with AMS. First one ever. It was not that steep a learning curve to get successful prints. 6 months later it just freaking works. Using it pretty much non stop the last 2 months. Creating my own simple objects and designs and I feel creative and inspired that I can print them without much worry that I’ll get a successful print. I’ve spent a good amount since then buying filaments and plates and the like and all the consumables. Now I just create and print. Love it. Even my wife loves it and she is not easy to please at all.

Outstanding review Ashley! The X1 Carbon Combo was my 2nd printer (1st was a Robo3D R1+ which I used for 5 years) and my first Kickstarter, so I could identify with your journey. I saw a KZbin video the day my printer arrived that demonstrated using Windex on the cool plate, didn’t really want to mess with a gluestick, so went with the Windex and have never looked back. Everyone raved about PEI plates, so I got the Bambu Lab version. I have never used it! The cool plate meets my needs for PLA printing; I have 2 now. I did not realize how much faster it was going to be at Normal speed and how big a difference it would make. I have yet to print a benchy either. The AMS was a huge draw for me as filament was a pain to change on the Robo. Having 4 colors ready to go is a real plus and changing them out is a breeze. Bambu Studio is awesome and a pleasure to use. The x1 is not perfect, but it has exceeded my expectations. Bambu Lab caught everyone sleeping and has stirred up everyone up in a good way. Thanks for the thoughtful review!

Thank you for that. I have noticed some(short term) reviews miss out on common fixes everyone could use.. Windex over gluestick is a great example. Also since I am not going through multiple machines in a short time the generational leaps in tech are more impressive. And studio has been great, from beginning to the updates later. I didnt even touch on that. Lol. Again thank you for the positive feedback.

First printer was a Prusa MK3S+ in early 2021 and I quickly became a Prusa fanboy. Got my X1 Carbon / AMS in early Aug 23. By the second print I knew I would never use the Prusa again. There are some minor things that bug me with Bambu, you clear an error on the slicer program, still won't print, you have to walk over to the printer, clear the same error on the screen before you can proceed. I'm sure they will work it out eventually. Regardless, I'm 100% on team Bambu now even though I did have the issue where they sent a print to my printer at 05:00 and it crashed into an existing print on my bed (no damage was done, but not a pleasant way to to be woken up). I have also never printed a Benchy 😋

If I started with the mk3s+ I could certainly see myself being a Josef fan. I liked Prusa Slicer over Cura Slicer. The printer had no real issues of note just the speed, at quality, just wasnt there. BUt once I had the X1C and if I added up all the time with both the ender and mk3 after month 3 I had printed more and varied items, on the BL printer, than both combined. I wish I can say I am a loyal fanboy but it would be nearly impossible to pull me from my X1C in current year. I had run into the error of a print being done but the slicer still saying job was not complete before. I haven't seen it crop up in a few weeks though. Thank you for your comment. 😁

I really like the bambu products, but here is the issue. I have tried to contact Bambu Labs from their official website with no luck. The website won't allow me to go past the terms it makes you agree to. I finally was able to send a message just to test how long it would take for Bambu Labs to reply. It is days later now, and I still haven't heard anything back. I don't know how anyone could give these people your business. What happens if the product has issue? I am really bummed out. I was excited after watching and reading about this product. I was ready to place an order for an A1 combo, but at this point, I'm glad I didn't 😢. Any suggestions on another printer?

My experience is an anecdote of one. I can only give you direct info on what I personally witnessed so any recommendations will come from consuming review content from trusted sources. I have a technical background so as long as I can get parts I am generally happy. I am currently happy. The one time I did contact support I was sorted out within a day. Ymmv. I have never used any support line to purchase a printer, ever, so I have zero direct knowledge if that is a viable way to purchase a machine or even ask questions. There are X1E printers sold by vendors who will be more than happy to answer your questions, and provide support contracts. What I can say since Aug of 2022 I have been rocking and rolling and we'll over 4k hours printed. I hear Prusa is good with support but I have never contacted them. That is above your price target unless you are fine with the mini and no mmu/ams option. I will say(expensive) printers with corpo contracts(24/7 support /on site techs, loaner devices,) will have excellent support but that is beyond consumer printers. Unfortunately for the price of the $560 for the A1 may not give you a lot of one on one time with customer service. Your options of prebuilts(sub $600)are not known for great customer service and your options for an AMS lite are lost. If you are near a microcenter, you could shell out extra for an extended warranty to cover catastrophic events.

Really solid video, I ended up going with the K1 Max due to the price difference and size of the build plate but I was blown away hearing Bambu was such a new company. If they were closer in price I'd have definitely given the Bambu a shot. Australia tax is strong.

That K1 Max bed size had me drooling. I don't print a lot of large things but I'm not sure if that was because I was lazy splitting things and putting them together(@ 24:14 thundercats claw,) or I just become used to the size I have now. that first ender was 220x220x250 so everything was an upgrade. 🙂 Creality has certainly upped their printer game in 2023 so the best printer is always the one that handles your needs. How do you like it so far? Do print large often or fill plate? Thank you for the kind words about the video. 🥲about the Aussie fees, they seem disgustingly punishing.

@@ashleys3dprintshop It should be arriving today! My old printer is a CR6-SE that a friend talked me into and it better be as good as some reviews say because the CR6-SE was a nightmare! I also didn't print that much big stuff, but that's definitely due to wanting a more plug and play, not wanting to slice and deal with that, and the print time being max 50mm/s and non stop fails. Waking up to a print failing was a constant issue that made me put it away for a while, but we'll see how it goes. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Thanks for this in depth review. I'm having the hardest time deciding between the P1S or X1C
@ashleys3dprintshop
@ashleys3dprintshop 10 ай бұрын
There is a $500 difference....If money is no issue...😅 but the big issues besides price is what you want to mainly print. I almost exclusively print in PLA/PETG so the P1S would technically work fine. But there are some big differences if you print abrasive filament like carbon fiber/nylon. The camera is MUCH slower and lower resolution(1080p/720p) 24fps for the x1c and 0.5fps for the p1 series. kinda ok for time-lapse but nearly useless for live viewing that isn't a slow slideshow. It can be fixed with a smart cam (wyze cam) and creative placement on a tripod ($30-$50) print failure(spaghetti detection) and object exclusion(skip failed prints) isn't available on the P1S. The touch screen on the X1C is the brains and does a lot for the overall experience. You can get by with using a cell phone or computer since the p1p/p1s non-touch screens are functional but not enjoyable to use if that makes sense. I will paraphrase what someone who bought a P1S over a X1C. The prints are fine but they had regret with what the X1C had. $500 regret...🤔
@DonsArtnGames
@DonsArtnGames 10 ай бұрын
There is also the materials to consider... If you plan on printing (a lot) with Glow-in-the-dark, wood, carbon fiber, or any plastics with fibers or coarse stuff in it, then you have to either buy the X1C or get the hardened steel head for the P1S. If you need to print with Nylon or other really high temperature filaments, then I recommend the X1C. The additional features such as lidar and higher quality camera means you'll have a more reliable printer for those critical prints in pricey filaments. The P1S does excellent for general hobby printing especially for the price. The X1C is if you want that extra muscle out the box with some extra features to top it off. If budget is a concern and you are still looking at entry hobby level printing, then I would consider the newly release Bambu Lab A1. Multicolor printing for the about the same price as the P1S... It's not enclosed, but I have yet to hear of any trouble that wasn't user error (and I mean really BAD user error)

Mine was like that for several months too... the X1C just made it not needed.. yet... but now I print enough that I needed the additional printer. It prints ALMOST as fast as the X1C, if the X1C is at 50% speed... It's an okay printer. My only compaint: the NOISY fan... a firmware update made it "quieter", but it just turned the fan speed down during printing... The "jet" fan turns on during long or higher temperature prints. No one is going to want to be near it while that fan is on...

You are absolutely correct the quick clips took the longest to add in, I am mixed on their effectiveness. I don't have chapter capabilities yet. The first 7-8 min were my frustrations with previous devices and why I even spent a small fortune on a relative unknown company. Without some sort of b roll or visual content it's basically an audio book for 8 min. I also didn't want a dump session on other brands. They were from a different generation and there was a sea change from bedslinger to corexy for me. The other 2 thirds fall into the actual review. Where I can "show" something instead of just tell. My normal videos are not reviews but instructional content so aside from a short 10 second intro I would rather dive into topic than dance around it. Thank you for your comment and opportunity to improve.
