My ranking (it's actually the same ranking as yours, Brett): 1.) Raiders of the Lost Ark - Need I say more? We're probably never going to get another movie like this ever again, certainly not in our lifetime. 2.) The Last Crusade - Honestly, in a perfect world, Last Crusade should have been the final one. But it wasn't... oh well! I still personally prefer Raiders, but I can totally see how this is everyone else's favorite in the franchise. R.I.P. Sean Connery (1930-2020). 3.) Temple of Doom - I at least respect Temple for being so unapologetic and going all the way, and it's fanbase is definitely very loyal (for good reason). For all the people that love Temple of Doom so much and put it as their #1, go ahead! That's fine... I totally get it! Permission granted. But Raiders and Crusade are just more rewatchable in my eyes. Also... Willie sucks! (Even though it's not Kate Capshaw's fault.) 4.) Dial of Destiny - Look... If there's anything that Crystal Skull had taught us, it's that Dial of Destiny (and any Indiana Jones movie post-Last Crusade) was never going to touch the Original Trilogy. All this movie had to do was just stick the landing and respect the legacy (which, apparently in this day and age, is actually really hard). But they somehow managed to pull it off... for me, at least. Especially when you consider that this the last time we'll get to see Harrison Ford portray Indiana Jones, possibly ever. And I'm okay with that. Plus, anytime these Fandom Menace KZbin Channels (who hate every single thing imaginable and call everything "woke") lose badly is a huge win for sanity. 5.) Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - You know... Talking about Crystal Skull and ranking it at the bottom honestly feels like picking on the slow kid, because it's such an easy target. (Nuking the Fridge, anyone?) Of course it has its fans, especially with the existence of Dial of Destiny. But I would like to think that most people and movie audiences are in a safe position to either enjoy this movie or just skip it entirely, simply because it now has the luxury of no longer being labeled as "the final one". And there's nothing wrong with those two options. But at the end of the day, Crystal Skull is still the worst Indiana Jones movie (even if it's not the worst movie ever made in general).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Theo! It seems aside from having the same ranking, we very much so share the same thoughts on the series too! Raiders is the best Adventure movie ever made in my humble opinion, and one of the best movies period. Crusade comes so close and I really wish them riding off into the sunset was actually them riding off into the sunset lol. Temple has its moments and MANY defenders. The last two are fine, certainly watchable and mostly enjoyable but the OG trilogy is where it's really at. Thanks again Theo, cheers!

Last Crusade I could easily switch 1 & 2 around but the 3rd act with all the booby traps Indy has to go through to save his dad and Harrison Ford’s and Sean Connery’s dynamic puts Crusade over Raiders for me.

Raiders of the Lost Ark The Last Crusade The Dial of Destiny The Temple of Doom Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Really have enjoyed Indy’s journey and how each adventure dug further into the DNA of what makes him, him. And also how it unravels what he really wants out of life, out of the time that he has here. This is how I’ve pictured the series as a whole after seeing Dial of Destiny. You don’t have to agree.

Im honestly glad to see that some people really enjoyed Dial, I certainly had a fun time with it! I wouldn't put it above any of the original 3 personally, but it's good to know it has its fans! I don't dislike any Indy movie, so for the most part I really agree with your assessment!

My ranking is a little different. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is definitely the low one on the pole. Temple of Doom is 4th, I would put Dial of Destiny as 3rd. As it’s just average, it made me feel fulfilled and happy. Raiders is 2nd and Last Crusade is my no 1 for personal reasons. Plus I have a replica grail diary!

I already posted my ranking on the short version of the ranking, but I will expand upon my thoughts on each movie. There are no bad Indiana Jones movies in my opinion. 5. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 4. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny 3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark 1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Last Crusade and Raiders are the best adventure movies of all time. Each and every moment of those movies are so iconic and memorable in my mind. Last Crusade is particularly quotable and has my favorite relationship in the series with Indy and his father. Raiders is a classic with some incredible action and some of the most iconic moments in movies, but I simply prefer Last Crusade as a movie and it does everything that Raiders does better. Dial of Destiny and Temple of Doom are interchangeable, as both are very entertaining and have fantastic moments but don’t come close to Raiders and Crusade. Dial has a strong opening, surprisingly touching and emotional moments, and great characters but the third act is the weakest part of the movie. What edges Temple of Doom over Dial for me is the action sequences and memorable moments, despite the movie becoming incredibly dark at points. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is watchable and enjoyable at parts, but it does not even come close to recapturing the magic of the original trilogy! While the action is decent, Mac is a highlight, and it’s nice to see Harrison Ford as Indy, the second half of the movie falls apart for me and becomes too outlandish, particularly in the final act. In addition, the usage of CGI does hinder the look of the film. As I said, there are enough redeeming qualities to make the film worth watching, but it is my last choice if I want to watch an Indiana Jones movie.

1. Last Crusade - while objectively raiders is better, the father son chemistry and the more lightharted tone make it easily the most rewatchable Indiana film 2. Raiders of the lost Ark - it's an absolute classic adventure, awesome action, music, direction, Harrison ford is iconic, great pacing, nothing wrong with it basically 3. Temple of Doom - easily the darkest Indy film, with the most frightening villain and the best climax of all and the fastest paced film, love short round and while Willie maybe annoying still better than Helena 4. Crystal Skull - I grew more appreciative of the film thanks to dial, the first two acts aside from the CGI goufers a d the fridge are pretty descent, but it loses me in the final act, still enjoyable enough legacy sequel 5. Dial of Destiny - I hated how it destroyed the ending of the previous film, Helena was disprekable, the absence of Spielberg was apperant and i got tired in the second half

I didn't hate Destiny, tho I have yet to rewatch it either so we'll see how it holds up after that haha. Definitely on the longer side and lacked the magic of the first three but after numerous rewatches I still just don't really care for Crystal Skull! Raiders is an all-timer for me, the perfect adventure movie! But truthfully, Crusade is like RIGHT behind it!

The Temple of Doom I struggled a bit with Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny of which one to put higher because I prefer the Plot and less CGI in the Dial of Destiny but I prefer the Characters including Indiana Jones himself and the runtime in the Crystal Skull and the same issue I had with Temple of Doom I hated the Indi Girl in the First half of Dial of Destiny and found her to be annoying as hell. However I might switch them once I’ve rewatched Dial of Destiny.
