It's time to Guess that Gene! You know 'em, you love 'em, it's the Banana! Though there are other genes that bring out the yellow in the base scale color of ball pythons, the banana gene also comes with pale lavender markings. As they grow, adults will "ripen" by developing scattered black scales, mostly on the markings.

theyre very clearly marked as live animals both so postal services treat it with care and so this doesnt happen :3

@@stan5555there’s ventilation holes in the boxes, they’re stored in breathable cloth bags, and the padding is usually cotton or loose newspaper.

I started doing this with KZbin snake content about 6 years ago. I couldn’t even look at snakes to begin with. Now I’m considering getting one.

Keeping my ball python in 60% humidity wasn’t working. He was getting respiratory infections and his sheds were messy. I put a humidity box in his enclosure and then let the rest of the air be normal and he has been doing great ever since! I do like to give him a bath when in shed just incase but if I don’t he is always ok still. All snakes can be so different

That’s a great solution! Great problem solving work! I think a huge part of being a good keeper is trial & error and problem solving!

How do you maintain the humidity? I’m struggling with that. I mist down her tank daily and it doesn’t stay long and drops down to 40. My banana is getting ready to shed and I want to make sure the process is good for her. This is my first month with her

Do you have a video that outlines the safety of the snake during shipping? I'd love to get a better understanding of this as my gut reaction when i saw it being packed was horror but ive seen a good few of your videos and can see you take good care of them so im assuming the packaging is standard practice.

Intel about it in a few shipping videos. However, I’ve done a bunch and I don’t recall which ones exactly. The safety of the snake is my priority when shipping.

It sounds odd but yes! You can’t just drop them in the regular mail though. There are certain rules you must follow.

I would be scared to ship an animal to someone. You have no idea if they will lose the package, or how they will treat the package. You also don't get to meet the person to see what they are about, and if they have the proper materials to keep the animal healthy.
